I had homemade cheesecake for dessert. We had a big meal out at the house since Dad had a friend over and I had been given a ham.
Marbled chocolate and plain cheesecake. Mmmmm... Now I feel as though I won't really *need* to eat for about a week. Vey rich stuff.
I cain't take this!
Nana's in the living room watching Animal Planet. She keeps calling Sam saying "You need to see this..."
So...what exactly is it that Sam needs to see? Details!
Well, Sam should see it! :~D
You say that as if you thought I'd be in the same room watching TV with Nana...
you ain't as dumb as I thought... ugly, but not dumb...
I only bought seven bottles of wine today...
1 cup cinnamon
1 tbsp. ground cloves
1 tbsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. allspice
1 tbsp ginger
3/4 c. applesauce
In medium bowl, combine cinnamon, cloves, allspice,
ginger & nutmeg. Add applesauce, stir to combine.
Work mixture with hands 2 to 3 minutes or until dough
is smooth and ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut dough with cookie cutters.
Using straw or pencil, make small hole in top of ornament.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at 150 degrees for 1 hour
Remove from the cookie sheet and bake on the oven
racks for another hour and a half.
Use these ornaments to decorate gifts, hang on tree, etc.
I got this recipe from a website.

That's a LOT of cinnamon! I dunno that we'll attempt 'em, but I'd like to try them next year. They must smell wonderful!
Good! I just got back from baking at mom's. Left elf-boy with her, heh! We are going to pick him up tomorrow when we see her for Christmas.
Okay, but will the store be open tomorrow for resupply?
eeeek!
I pray so... just ran outta bourbon...
eeeek!
They'll be open in our state, we gots our priorities ya know. In the meanwhile, ya still got the 'snake bite medicine' don't ya?
Challah is a braided yeast bread that is generally made the day before the Jewish Sabbath. It is really good! I make it with honey instead of sugar. There are many recipes, however I use this one (in a bread machine).
2 pkg. yeast
1 3/4 c. water
2/3 c. oil
1 egg
1/2 c. sugar or honey
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. flour (all-purpose)
Mix together above ingredients. Then add 3 cups additional
flour. Turn out on floured surface. Let rise for 1 hour or
until double in bulk. Punch it down.
For Kashrut only: Take "Challah", put in oven. Shape into 2
loaves or place in loaf pans. Let rise an hour. Brush with
egg and water. Bake at 350 degrees for an hour. Cool on
wire racks.
Joseph wants Apple Cranberry pie for Christmas, so he's gonna bake that tomorrow. Paul made Pumpkin Pie the other night cause he felt like it. It was vey good, so I'm going to have him do another. SSQ likes pies better than cake, but David might have to make another Pineapple Upside Down cake, cause SSQ liked that really well. We've been doing a lot of cooking and baking since they've been home. ;o)
Took me two hours to get all the lights on the 10' tree at Church. Then I put the lights on the smaller tree in the Parish Hall(the basement of the Church) that they use for an additional Mass at 4:30. The Church looks lovely at Christmas. Now I get to fix up MY house. I've been putting it off, and just got the lights on our tree this morning. The kids will put ornaments on it tomorrow while I'm wrapping gifts, then they can wrap gifts they bought when I'm done.
