Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, if it's doable with your family obligations, you've got free room and board here, and probably a certain amount of free taxi service from the airport and such if you need.

OK - I'll bring it if there might be interest in doing that. Is it a real skeet range with automatic launchers and such so we wouldn't even have to bring our own clay pigeons?

I still hope to take you up on that! I'd love to meet your animals and all. If nothing else, maybe I can at least do a day visit!

We did see Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban though, which I was glad to see get a music nomination.I was remarking to Clare night before last how much I liked the music. We were watching the DVD I got Clare for Christmas.
How did you like The Village? We enjoyed it a lot, even considering the 'interesting' ending. I liked the music from that one, too.
Did you know that Howard Shore had done the score for The Aviator? I listened to bits of it from the Amazon site last night. Shows me just how inspired his music was by Tolkien's stories. The Aviator score pales by comparison.

I think
Azkaban is the best of the Potter scores, and hope they give the Oscar to John Williams to honor his work on the series, since he isn't scoring
Goblet of Fire.
The Village was interesting, but it just didn't grab me as much as Shyamalan's previous films. The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable were terrific, and Signs was pretty good. They all have great scores, though, and I wouldn't mind if James Newton Howard won for The Village.
I did know that Howard Shore scored The Aviator, but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet.

Hah, "Insert routine story here" works for a lot of our little daily dramas...
Done with one class. Now I have two+ hours to recuperate and work before my two in a row.

I know it's not my place to say it, living in Miami, but there is a definite poetic quality to winter, among other things about it.

I know nothing about brands. I bought the one that was on sale at Staples at the time. ;-)
Mine is a PNY Attache drive, which is a bit clunkier than some from other companies, but still vey small. And it's held up well so far.
