Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Congrats on getting the bug home and unloaded. Don't think the shop will look that 'clean and uncluttered' for long.

Thanks for the reminder if we can stay up.

I may switch back and forth, but somehow, I'd rather hear Letterman.

The local news here just did a promo spot for Leno's show... he's going to have lots of Carson's regulars on to talk about him, including Ed McMahon, Don Rickles, Bob Newhart, and others.

Well, I was standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona,
Such a fine sight to see!
It's a girl,
My Lord,
In a flat-bed Ford,
slowin' down to take a look at me. ...

Went to the eye doctor today, with my daughter. We were sitting there waiting for the doctor to call us in and nearby was a television. Apparently the secretary likes watching General Hospital.
Do you know what was going on today's episode????? A RAPE. I hope to God my daughter was too engrossed in the Highlights magazine she was reading, but it took a few moments to realize what was happening...and when I did, we were called in by the doctor.
I felt so violated...just by watching. I mean, it was BAD.

Hell, its hillier than Mississippi...Missisiippi can get pretty hilly in places, like Carroll County, surprisingly, in the Delta, and Vicksburg and down the long undulating slope from Hattiesburg to Gulfport. ;o)
