Still round the corner there may wait |

I don't want to post it on line. Let me think it through some more and I might talk about it offline or in chat.
Only in America can a poor black child grow up to be a rich white woman...
Sure!
Hey, Jen...did we still have a Yahoo group for Hobbit Hole writers? One of these days it might be fun to resurrect it, if Yahoo hasn't gotten toooo ad filled.
LOL!
That's about what my Mom used to say...that he went from a cute little black kid to a very ugly white woman...
Actually... I'd be up for something like a writing challenge if we could use works in progress. I've got 50k of a story I like to add to...
Course, my dad's going to be published before I am, but that's ok. I've got time.
I just got to hold twins! The cutest wittle brand new, 5 week-old, daaaaahling twins! Coworker brought them in for show-n-tell.
And my SIL is due any day with my first niece!
Life is so good!
I'm not so sure I'd want to do a "challenge" as much as have someone motivate me to keep writing. I have several projects "in the works."
I'm hoping over the next week to get them organized and at least have all my work in the same place.
I still only have the first chapter of my new story and I'm half thinking of starting over. I like the idea of it, but I'm not sure I like how I'm telling it so far.
Were you gonna send me a link to some of your latest story in progress?
Heh...I came across a quote from some famous author the other day (can't remember who) that said something like "To become a writer, first write a million words. Burn them. Then start writing."
I have a lonnnnng way to go. ;-) But I'm at what, about 200,000 now? About that, if I only count stuff from after the age of 15 or so. It's a start!
Oh, I still have to finish off one chapter to get it to sort of halfway done, then I'll send it. Haven't done much writing lately for some reason...
Dad wrote a piece of Christian literature that looks like it has an excellent chance of getting published. I'll tell you when it comes out ;-)
Go ahead and send me whatever you like, when you like.
You have every right to be concerned! He needs to realize that he's been given a "gift'and should listen to his doctor. Overdoing it too soon could cause the screws to fail, leading to another operation and a longer recuperation. Good luck to your mom in keeping him "in line"!
My step-dad rarely listens to anyone. I'm afraid he'll start feeling better and want to get back to work at the store.
Lord knows, he doesn't need the money. He just ~needs~ it.
I may send you the first chapter of this story along with a synopsis. It's a bit sappy for me, but perhaps that means I need practice with that...
Heh...I told one of the bothers that I'd like to at least start TRYING to get published before I'm 30. That's almost two years. He said "isn't that awfully soon?"
I barely refrained myself from slapping him silly.
Send it along... and slap the bother!
Ooh...according to Fed-Ex, Teresa's book should be delivered today - the printed copy.
Hope it's at least sort of presentable, in spite of my formatting errors and general stupidity. ;-)
Ooh, excellent!
It's a little silly on my part since it's really just a fancy version of a rough draft manuscript...but I'm really excited! Can't wait to actually hold it.
All right, it's going to take forever for me to get this chapter right but I'll send the others, they work pretty well even without. Email ok?
Yep!
And I may send you what I have when I get home. I forgot my USB drive again...
There's a major element in this chapter I think I should cut out...but maybe I should have you read it before I ask whether it's too hokey or creepy or not.
Yeah, but I'm good. ;-) Actually, I used to record books for the blind for the state, so I've had lots of practice.
My husband is not a reader. (No, I don't count the bathroom as a reading room.) So, I realized if I want to share books with him, this is the only way to do it. It's also great for passing time on road trips.
