Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Ugh. I remember getting a B that I didn't want. The prof a couple semesters later asked me, "What happened?? You only wrote three of the four essays on the final." What happened was an *** of a guy who sat across the table from me had a crib sheet in his hat. He took his hat off and cheated. It was flagrant and he gave me all kinds of "I dare you to report this" looks. Then he pulls out a tin of chewing tobacco and opens it up. Well everyone has their own vices but this one truly nauseates me. And he knew how sick the smell makes me. I got physically ill and left without answering that last question.
So I got a B.
Being the person I am now, I wouldn't have been bullied. But that's neither here nor there.

~sigh~
My b-i-l keeps finding cars his buddies are selling that he thinks would be a good find for Jr.
In the first place, Jr. is just going for his learner's today (and he hasn't studied so I don't expect him to pass).
In the second place, Jr. ain't got no money for a car.
In the third place, I've already given him MY old car and he can drive that until he can afford better.
FINALLY, I know my b-i-l knows his stuff when it comes to cars. BUT he don't know what Jr. needs. This b-i-l has spent the night in jail and later lost his licence for a year because of traffic "incidents." And this is within the last 5 years (he's 30-ish).
Today's car? A 1990 Acura, with a Playstation 2 installed in the back seat. Just what every 16-year-old boy dreams about...well after the other dream...
Hey Rosie, you still shoppin' fer your brother?

Hey Rosie, you still shoppin' fer your brother?LOL!
He still doesn't have his learner's permit. Mostly because he's lazy about studying...does that sound familiar?

Congratulations! You've done well... No usefullness for regrets.

Jr's girlfriend game him her copy of the driver's manual to study. And there's an online practice test.
His philosophy? "Everyone fails the first time."
Told him I didn't. I got 95 out of 100 (and that was because of a stupid mistake).

Hey Corin; that is great about your step-dad not needing a hip replacement! The worst thing about the screws is that you can feel the bolts move (or else my orthopedic surgeon forgot to use the Lok-Tite).

Heh...I wouldn't mind! JaNoWriMo?
If I could use my work-in-progress, that is.
What's the idea? Or is it a secret?

Yeah, Nana kept thinking that the hip was "slipping" because she could feel it. Finally got the doctor to tell her that she'd be feeling it some anyway.
My only real concern is that my step-dad will try to do too much too soon. That's just the way he is.
