The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 12/20/2004 9:01:36 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

My neighbor has a friend that manages an apartment complex...she said that now and then they just get rid of all their washers and dryers and buy new ones. She said she would try to get me a dryer for FREE! That would be nice...the

Only trouble is, it costs 25 cents for ten minutes ;~D

Good morning. Kinda sorta caught up. Ramius - yikes! Glad you're OK!

Corin...I think my one day quick stomach virus diet could give your bronchitis diet a run for its money...

Feelin' better today, though still slightly woozy.

That could be a kind of savings account! 2J would have to put money in to dry her clothes, but it's all going to her, anyway! LOL!

Bah, no joke.

Good morning! I have a full day to recover before classes. Tuesday and Thursday are going to be really hard this semester, especially since my last two classes are back to back. And the last one, the professor kept us ten minutes late the first day of class. Not a great omen...

I may or may not be ill, since I had a headache and no stomach for food yesterday. But I was still hungry. I ended up having popcorn for dinner as the thought of anything heavier than that made me sick.

Sounds like a hangover... Drink lots of water!

Nah, no possible way it could be a hangover. Sunday night I had a single glass of wine - although that left me a bit more cheerful than it should have - since then I haven't felt like drinking a sip of alcohol. The problem is, the only time I've got to enjoy myself these days is late evening, so if I drink, I lose that because it makes me more tired and I have to go to bed.

At least I'll be home early enough today to go get more sodas. I'm going through my caffiene way too fast.

The symptoms still sound like you are dehydrated, which is all a hangover is. Caffeine will dehydrate you too.

Try water and/or Gatorade...

Hmm, that might be an idea. I'll drink more water. It is easy to get dehydrated here, and usually I'm careful, but with the diet, maybe that's thrown things a little out of whack too.

Hey girl! I was gone Sunday evening, then asleep all day Monday, then gone most of yesterday morning so I didn't even realize you were missing until yesterday afternoon!

Hope you're on the mend!
