Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I've heard of the "Philosepher's Stone" and Alchemy in Medieval times. Fascinating!

That's where it came from! Rowling researches her books very well. Nicholas Flamel really was a historical alchemist. Those guys were a little loopy, but eventually alchemy became chemistry.
Ironically, it's through physics that one could turn lead into gold... the costs would be prohibitive, of course, since it involves changing the atomic weights...

No one bedrooms listed.
Actually, no two bedrooms listed. Very limited listings right now. For the local area at the realtor I'm thinking of going to, they only have 21 one-family houses listed total, in all price ranges, and of those five or six are already under deposit.
Only five under 100k, which mine would be, by quite a bit.
In other words...not much to compare to, but if someone is looking for an inexpensive house right now, mine MIGHT be snapped right up!

That's were Tolkien and Rowling are alike, Because Tolkien also did his research into myths and legands as well as ancient hisroty and languages.
I thought I heard were JK Rowling was a teacher?

Yes, look at it that way! Some couple wants their first house... can't afford that much money... and then sees yours!

Well, it's officialy bronchitis. He did xrays to make sure it wasn't pneumonia. I gots drugs.
He said "you should be better by Monday," which is darn convenient since I've got a four-day weekend.
~sigh~ Don't look like I'll get the bathroom painted OR the attic cleaned out.
Certainly not both.

For me, almost...
It's a beautiful but chilly day here. Sure, it's 32, but the wind is blowing. Still the sky is so gorgeous... this is why I love Colorado. Sunshine all the time!
