The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm afraid that the fix has been in for some time now. That's why Gregoire put out that story earlier today that "both sides should just agree to abide by the manual recount". She already knew that there were enough "new" votes to push her over the edge.

What a pain. Glad I don't live there. I'd be getting out the tar and feathers.

Right, I'm going to bed.

Is it going to stick?

Yes, it will stick. Whatever the outcome of the manual count, it decides the election. The only possible recourse is to take it to the state legislature, which is controlled about 60-40 by dems.

It's over.

The fix has been in since the dems paid $1.3million for the recount. I don't think they would have ponied up the cash unless they ~knew~ they were gonna be able to flip the results and get their money back.

Not much hope, I agree, but I'll cling to it as long as I can.

Well, sometimes those 'fool's hopes' come through! I'm still hoping Rossi wins by 1 or 2 and that will really chap the Dems!!

I'm picturing huge protests of people wearing orange, on th capitol steps, for years.

This could be fun. :-)

You mean to say that is was not only mere chance that lead to King County being last to report their numbers???

I'm shocked --shocked-- to think that there could be any shenanigans there. :-P

All my blaze orange clothes have blood all over 'em.

I wonder if that helps or hurts the cause. ;~D

Yes, orange was the color adopted by the protesters in the Ukraine, with regard to the shenanigans in their election.

But at least in the Ukraine, the foul nature of their election was recognized and now there is a new election scheduled.

Funny how a former Soviet state has a better system than the Soviet of Washington.
