Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

They have!
And then they call me the next day and I've got to run direct deposit reversals, check voids, issue credits and run another payroll with the right figures on it. Blech!
Fax it over, I'll be done in 15 minutes and it'll be done right. *smile*

Yeah... there's just no escape from idiots. But somehow, some way... stupidity should hurt. Its all about justice.

If stupidity hurt, there'd be packages of Percocet included with the payroll package. *grin*
*stifles yawn* Sorry 'bout that.
I'm off to bed, Ramius. Stay warm and see you tomorrow!
Nighty night, Hobbit Holers (if any are still around).

Niters... I've been invited to a game of pool... which starts with "p" and that rhymes with "t" and that stands for trouble.
Evenin' all...

I got the trilogy as a gift in 1968 and never read it. I wasn't into fantasy at that point; spy novels were my favorites. SSQ read it to our older sons about 15 yrs. ago, using my set, but I didn't listen too closely. It began to fall apart then, and we had to get replacements for a couple of the books. I didn't read it myself until just before the movies came out, and we started reading it again to our younger two. We had to get replacements again because the second set had gotten well used by the boys at that point. I've now read the series twice, but I'd be happy to read it again! I'm sure there are things I've forgotten that have been replaced by the images of the movies.
I got Clare a hardcover edition of The Hobbit for Christmas a couple of years ago. I'll read along using that one.

Keep my job hunt in your prayers please. I'm hoping something better comes along quick.Have you considered moving out of FL? Would the other location of your company be better, or do you want to get out of this line of work altogether?
You're in my prayers, and I'll put you on our Parish Prayer list.

Felt good to be "back" on the political circuit again.A couple of days ago, I was wondering if you'd get back into it if George Allen ran for President.

I'd be happy to drive that distance during the day, but at eleven or after, when I'm fighting to stay awake? Eehhh...That's when having sibs with you helps! They can chatter and sing to keep you awake. It's Interstate most of the way, isn't it? Maybe we could make plans to meet up there, and have supper before the concert!

We got distracted by the breaking news about Gregoire pulling ahead in the re-recount. I don't know what is gonna happen.

Eight votes. [sigh]
I still wanna know why anybody knows what the count of those votes are, since the court doesn't rule on them until tomorrow.

I don't know. I am not learned on the details.... ecurbh's been following it better than me.
I just figure it will come out in the wash, and then I will have to sit and pick off those little pieces of tissue...

Good evening-ish thingie.
Eldest bother got a poker set for his birthday. He is a very bad loser. I totally pwn3d them all, as I told them.
Nothing to do, so why do I feel like I can't get on at all? Well, my priorities are a little different right now. I drove the automatic transmission suv today, and man, that was weird. Haven't not driven a stick in forever.
Sorry about the governor. Is it going to stick?

There is still a glimmer of hope though, the results are not ~official~ yet.
Not much hope, I agree, but I'll cling to it as long as I can. Those may not be Democrats on the corsairs as we assume.
