The Hobbit Hole XVIII - Though we pass them by today...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Though we pass them by today...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

It's not late, it's just 'delayed'.

I'm up for a RoTK EE chat view, we haven't done one!

Here's that hazelnut spread I was telling you about. I don't know what the one with the white stuff tastes like but the one on the left is dee-licious!

I don't spread it on anything, either...just eat it right out of the jar with a spoon.

Well, you can get Nutella...which is similar...at Walmart in the peanut butter section. I think it's pretty expensive.

But this is only sold at Aldis. 1.69 for 14oz.

It's so rich I can only eat it for so long, then my throat shuts up on it's own and I can't eat any more.

Steve is doing something MAJOR tomorrow at his wetlands that he's writing his thesis on! He's adding dye to it and then will be monitoring the effluent taking samples and such. I don't understand it completely but it seems like his entire environmental department at school might be going to show up!

Hope it goes well, and the dye either comes out where it should, or doesn't come out where it shouldn't, depending on what the test is!

LOL No...this is approved by the city...his thesis is actually part of a grant the city got to study this particular wetlands. The city is paying his overtime while he studies and writes up stuff about this wetlands out of the grant.

His boss at work is going to be there too.

Yeah...I'm so excited for him, Jen! I know this is the beginning of the semester and that I'm always excited and enthusiastic at first, then it gets to be drudgery, then it just gets almost unbearable. You know, like last semester when everything seemed to be falling to pieces? LOL Then we have a break, catch our breaths, everything gets caught up and we get ready start again. Except after this semester, it's over.
