I was just going by the movie (the scene was never in the book). Dwarf passes out after only a few dozen beers, elf feels his fingers tingle.
Obviously, PJ should have consulted you as technical advisor for dwarvish behavior.
It was funny because it was out of character.
ROTFL!! Actually SSQ suggested homeschooling many years ago, but I was the one with the cold feet. Actually I wanted the socialization of school activities. When the younger two had gotten to 5th and 7th grades, I'd had all the socialization I could stand and was ready to just chill. I enjoyed those three years with Joseph before he went to high school this year. Clare is still enjoying it. We had a lot of fun, and it was great spending so much time with them. They are smart, interesting people, and we wouldn't have appreciated that as well if they'd been gone most of the day.
Find your state's homeschool message board, and get your hubby to take a look at it. Also find a local homeschooling group that does field trips. Maybe he could go on a couple with your daughter so that he could see what those wierd folks do! ;o)
Is Keene that far away from you? They're going to be in Dartmouth MA, too, either the day before the Keene concert or the day after. I have their "Otherworld" CD and it is GREAT!
I'm in the midst of reading it aloud to my husband, voices and all.
We've just gotten to Treebeard.
It was across the street, divided by a shared common entry. Merry Christmas to you also. Thanks again for everything, and I havent forgotten you. Just very hectic here.
Steve
I hope it's hectic-good, just like getting ready for Christmas can be!
Including voices eh? Heh... I don't think I could do that. ;~D
Good plan!
...all I have to do is find it.
*rummage rummage rummage*
It's around here somewhere....
Packed up still?
Here it is.
It ended up in a different bookcase.
~applause~
Very good then!
Well, with different inflections it makes it clear who someone is at the start of a quote before I get to the "so-and-so said" part.
Kind of makes me realise Merry was miscast in the Jackson films.
I think of him as "higher class" than as Dominic Monaghan played him. And Sam was a bit rougher in the book than how he was played by Sean Astin.
Evening Hair - nice new digs.
Count me in. We going to start with the Hobbit?
I think the hobbit is a good place to start :~D
That's the one.
