Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We tried to find that to watch it over the holidays, and couldn't locate a copy anywhere. *sniff*
Our own copy has gone AWOL.

Yowsers! I just checked weather.com and it looks like we get a little snow tomorrow morning, but later in the evening we get more and it snows all night. Joseph will be thrilled cause if it's snowy and icy, he won't have school. Don't know about Clare. They won't want to cancel her class cause they only have two weeks of class to begin with! We'll have to wait and see what Thurs. morning brings. I do know I'll have to go to the store tomorrow for milk, bread and eggs!!

I was not afraid of the Sound once I felt how cold the water was. Even sharks have their limits. *grin* Well, no, actually they... uh... yes! right! that's it. that's the ticket. :-)

43 degrees isn't bad if the winds are calm.
Add a gust or two and it changes quite a bit!

[smiles innocently] Like I said, there's almost no sharks at all here.
Maybe two. And they were both out of town when you took the boat ride. Really. :-)

Smart aleck.
Nevertheless, I wasn't worried about sharks in the water.
I'd of died of hypothermia before they ate me anyway. ;-D
But it was indeed cool how the air blew warm when you went out away from the mountain and so cold when you turned back to face it.

G'nite all. I'll check in the a.m. if we can. So far so good. Got a bucket of hickory and osage kindling (staves that didn't quite make to the bow stage) by the fire place. Will encourage Gypsy that it might be a good idea to tour the back yard one more time before going to bed.
To: osagebowman
Sleep well, osage and LSA.
Stay warm and check in when you can tomorrow!

Which reminds me that the real priority for this year really needs to be: New Boat.
Maybe something with a heater in it. :-)

No heater! It'll attract the 2 sharks. ;-D
Do you still have your boat down by the Tides?

Yah. Though [sigh] I've gotta do something about that. I think I'm gonna just donate it to Make-a-wish or something. Just need to get off the dime and get it taken care of.
Right now it is just filling my slip so nobody else parks there. I gotta keep the slip, cuz they're too hard to find.

Why do you want to get rid of it? It floats, right?
*smiling* I can't remember what it looks like, but I don't recall seeing the SS Minnow so it can't be beyond all hope.

It floats, at least the last time I saw it a few weeks ago. :-) It's a sailboat. Looks something like this:

this one is newer (and sadly, cleaner) than mine, but looks pretty much the same.

Well that isn't a bad boat at all!
If all she needs is spit and polish, why give her up? Or have you simply outgrown her?
