Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Why? Why should we fear to wear them? Because they're too big.

No likker if the power goes out, though. Alcohol lowers body temperature.

You're wicked!
I hear that song in my head anytime I get near saltwater. I shoulda never seen that movie (or the sequels, but only cuz they sucked so bad).

I just finished watching
Holiday Inn which I haven't seen in years! I'd forgotten just how un-PC it is! LOL!
But I did realize that the design for the addition to our house vaguely resembles the Inn in the movie! I've always loved the look of the wall of windows with the lights shining out from within, so I built it into my plans!

Yeah, but last year we had a cold snap the week of Entmoot!! It was nice, though, compared to what awaited us back home.
We had planned to stay over for the afternoon after we'd gotten off the train from Orlando, and go home on the later train. We were going to do some sightseeing in NYC, but the 17 degrees outside put the kibosh on that idea! While the kids and I waited for the train in NYC to take us back home, I took Joseph out and showed him the Empire State Building, which was about 2 blocks away from Penn Station. We were outside no more than a minute when he said "It's too cold out here!". Good thing we were able to get on the early train home!

I hear that song in my head anytime I get near saltwater. Yah... and getting you to go for a boat ride was like pulling teeth. big... scary... sharp... triangle-shaped teeth... row after row of them...
And we've got almost no sharks at all. Hardly any, really... yeesh...

I remember! I was freezing and everyone else was wearing t-shirts. LOL!
It's been pretty chilly here this year too. This week is the first real warm-up we've had in a while.

You are just as bad as Corin, if not worse!
I was not afraid of the Sound once I felt how cold the water was. Even sharks have their limits. *grin*

It was a pleasant 43 degrees here today! Sunny earlier, but got cloudy later on. We're supposed to have some nasty weather tomorrow, though.
