Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Though we pass them by today...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Weather-weenies are sayin' we're gonna get a snowstorm this weekend. As much as I love snow, it makes horse management a pain, so I kinda hope they're wrong.

Stoopid weatherThe local news people are having a ball. Fercryinout loud! You'd think they were broadcasting to aliens: "This is a pine tree. This is ice on the pine tree."

"This is a pine tree. This is ice on the pine tree."LOL!! Yeah, we get the obligatory footage of the sand trucks rolling before the storms get going, then the plows moving the snow. EVERY TIME! I guess they think we must forget between storms.

This is your brain. This is your brain after your car slid off a fifty foot embankment and rolled all the way down, landing on the roof and flattening the car and your head with it. Any questions?
Ice scares me.

Looks like great minds think alike! I'm glad Corin has the Mavis Beacon program. I have it, but the kids still use it from time to time. ;o)

Hot water costs money, though.
*sigh*
I'm really glad this is pay week. I'm down to the let's-see-what-interesting-things-we-can-make-from-the-odd-assortment-of -junk-in-the-fridge-and-cabinets stage.
Experimentation is fun, of course, but I'd like some fresh stuff soon!

No thanks!
I wish we'd get snow. First week of January in VERMONT and it's brown out there.

I get really nervous on the smaller roads that don't have guard rails. Even if I'm going really, really slowly...on a steep slope you'd still end up going over the edge. Just vey slowly over the edge.
Ick.

Evening, made it home rather quickly as I was at another office today. The office downtown closed early (I was already in transit) and the other office closed at 4, hmm. except for the project group I was meeting with, we went to 5:15pm... sigh.
LSA brought in some fire wood, bought an inflateable bed with a built in pump, candles are on the mantle, got our wind up radio, we're about as ready as we can be. btw Gypsygirl is not amused by the weather.
To: osagebowman
Miss Cat hasn't even noticed the weather but she did look a bit puzzled at the car being indoors.
