New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
|
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Guiness...
Ya know, for the most part, I don't like pints, but Guiness (on tap) is an exception. So are some batches of Dad's beer - the darker ones.
Still can't drink a whole glass, though.
Why would you be able to get in free? Does your sister work for the theater or something? I fergit...
What a great explanation! WWFD...I like it! ;-)
Good morning!
We got snow! Only a little, though. This is about the first year I can remember when we did NOT have a white Christmas. Pouring rain on Thursday took care of that. All I want for the rest of the days of Christmas is about a foot of snow, so I can go snowshoeing - and my boss can go snowmobiling so he's in a good mood. ;-)
Today is ROTK EE day! We've been so busy until now that I haven't seen it - I didn't want to watch it without the others for fear of reprisals. After one viewing, though, I'm gonna keep it to myself. Wanna check out the commentaries and all! And documentaries and interviews and artwork and...oh, everything! My preciousss...
Dad surprised me again last night...when we were over visiting that family, we had barely gotten in and settled and Dad said to EVERYONE "So, Teresa, did you tell eveyrone what Rosie gave you for Christmas?" And told them all about the book! I was so pleased that he's impressed, I just sat there smiling and blushing. Like I said, it is soooo cool to me that he is taking me fairly seriously on this, even if no one else does! And he's not one to pass out praise easily...so this is major for me.
Waiting for the roads to clear a bit and then I'm heading out to the house yet again for MORE food, MORE music, and later today, ROTK!
How nice of your Dad!
We've all watched the first disk (Matthew got ROTK EE for Christmas) but we keep getting sidetracked in the second disk! We have GOT to get through it!
She is a once and future employee - had to quit temporarily because they wanted her to work Christmas. But she'll be going back in March when the weather gets better. They really like her because she's a hard worker and weird. So we might get in free. If not, one set of grandparents (the least obnoxious but also the ones with apparently no interest in seeing us again) sent movie theater gift certificates.
Yawn. Lovely sunny day here. I'm hoping none of my friends at school had family affected by the tsunamis.
Oh, XBOX....
My brothers have a Playstation2, which annoys me. I can't play video games - wrong set of motor skills - but XBOXen have some nice little features like playing computer-formats of files that PS2s don't.
I wonder if it plays MP3s? The jedi's little DVD player doesn't.
I guess I oughta read up...
It ought to, it plays .avi and .ogm (my anime club sets up an xbox to play stuff, which is how I know).
My sister got an iPod. Grr. Macs. And I have to reformat her computer from WinME to Win2K.
Yep, and he's been told "don't take it apart."
Mornin'
That's a cool present. You can regulate playing time and the games they play. They'll enjoy it for a long time. Look at places like Blockbuster and eBay for "pre-played" games. You can get some bargains.
Oh yeah, it should. We used Jr's Playstation 2 for DVDs until we got a DVD player.
They got them a race car game and Joshua likes it and seems oblivious to the buxom girls in tight clothes...
Well, that explains why dad keeps wanting to play then... ;~D
Ha!
I tell ya, I was really impressed with the graphics on the football game. It looked JUST LIKE a real game from a bit of distance, the Pickens stadium and everything!
Yeah - the graphics guys in video games have gotten as good as the movie animation people.
Obsessive compulsive Italian drama queens? "Monk meets The Sopranos"?
Yup.
Steve will probably end up enjoying it as much as the boys do!
Joseph bought an XBox for himself in the Fall, and we got a him a new game for it, "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic". St Nick brought Clare "Dance Dance Revolution" for the XBox and two dance pads. It is actually good exercise! She has two friends who do DDR for 1/2 hr. just about every day, and they both have lost 30 pounds this past year!. She doesn't need to lose weight, but she sure could use some exercise in addition to the Hydrobics a couple of times a week! With the two Dance Pads, she can play against other folks! Our David is really good at it. He and his housemates in Pittsburgh spent hours playing it!
