AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1416) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 6, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 12/06/2004 4:47:30 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Well, if we thought the departure of Daschle would soften the Senate democRATS, this should dispell any notion: the new Senate Minority Leader said that Justice Clarance Thomas "has been an embarassment."

The first missile interceptors are to be installed at Vandenburg Air Force Base.

A DNA sample was taken from Michael Jackson.

National Treasure remains at the top of the box office charts.

And in the Dumbest Criminals in the World Award for 2004 goes to a Florida panhandle couple. The couple had a 0.25-pound stash of marijuana stolen. So they did what all good Americans do when something of theirs gets stolen. The called the police. They said they had to get the marijuana back because they intended to sell it. But that's not all. They allowed police to search their apartment, after which activity numerous stems of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found. Congratulations goes out to 18-year-old John Douglas Sheetz and 17-year-old Misty Ann Holmes--you are definitely this year's dumbest criminals. They are currently cooling their heals on $17,500 bond, each.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Does selecting the route that does not include major highways work for you?

No, HOB, I could never find an option that would do that. I finally searched enough sites with mapping and found one that gave me the route I was looking for (on MSM's map), but there must be a more elegant way of doing this!

To take the interstate in this case involves about 7 different steps, that would not be very easy for people who aren't familiar with the area. I just wanted the simple, direct route, involving about 3 steps.

those temps are NOT appealing for me & biking. I might do a quickie with oliver (less than 2 miles) but for a sustained ride.. yuk.

I am impressed!

for me much below 35-40 gets too cold. The wind chill from moving is significant in those temps & then the weather wind chill is awful.

Maybe I am just getting old n lazy?

As it is about 50+ now & just a little drizzly, I will get in a good ride.. worked a lot this AM & can do so with semi clear conscious (never really bothers me otherwise!)

some of the programs have a "fastest route", "scenic route". most direct route, easiest route.

I love map programs. right now mine are uninstalled as I await finalization of all the changes..

One thing you could do is go to AAA & merely ask them a suggestion..& then map it yourself.

If there is 2" of snow , I guess I would rathr be cross country skiing ON TOP of it, rather than pushing it around in my yard.

another sign of lazy?

We are on borrowed time for bad weather.. Mother Nature will play catch up with us, I am sure.

You off school today?

They are not appealing to me either, D.C. I ONLY ride because I am so tired of driving all these years. The ride is only 3.5 miles, half downhill and half uphill. I wear goggles and gloves and enough layers to keep me comfy.

It only takes me 15 minutes, and then I'm on a warm bus the rest of the time, except for when I transfer buses.

I only rode 5 days out of about 20 in November (drove the rest) and I feel I have to make up for the days I missed riding. Almost every workday in the summer, I ride 10+ miles in the wonderful 80-95 degree afternoon warmth. I rarely ride out that 10+ miles in the 45 and below weather. Probably a dozen or so times from November to March.

I just look at this as something I have to get through to get back to summer again. :)

You mean it's not 10 miles uphill each way, and you have more than baggies to put on your feet? ... you must be one of those filthy rich Republicans ... ;-)

Just got a call from mom's financial adviser. He is wanting her to invest her money at Oppenheimer.

Please refresh my memory. It seems to me that they did something under handed, or gave money to the Impeached one??

Any information would greatly be appreciated.

Actually, after visiting your beautiful state about 15 years ago, my hat's off to you for being able to ride 10 feet on a bicycle. Since we came from an area that was about 135 feet above sea level (and actually flew out of a town that is 33 feet above sea level) it took us a few days to even begin to think about adjusting to the altitude ... and by then we had to come home.

I remember being in awe of the bikers we saw, as I struggled for breath while in the car. I wondered if those accustomed to the thin air would drown in the thick, moist air of coastal NC in the summer. LOL!

Give a holler if you need a substitute for tomorrow morning. I'll start the thread, if needed.

I forgot how long it takes for the body to adjust to the altitude by producing more red blood cells, etc. I've been here for 24 years. Whenever I have gone to the left coast of Southern CA to work, I have jogged my usual jog. It's really nice, because I can jog seemingly indefinitely, because I never run out of air!

The roads were nasty, here. I hope your ride home didn't involve the white stuff.

Nope... in school, but responded during lunch break.

End of the day now.

Each classroom has a computer, with internet. Nice, but I don't get to it very often.

Afternoon Lysie!

Oh my goodness... Sean Hannity just had Sam Donaldson on his radio show. They got into a discussion of John Kerry's Vietnam record, and Donaldson couldn't defend anything he said, including his accusations of the swift boat veterans not being truthful.

Donaldson sounded absolutely ridiculous.

I received a telephone call from the manager of the grocery store that did not put Christmas on their holiday cookies' labels.

Wow, what a song and dance he gave me. He explained that the cookies were labeled that way because they include three holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. He seemed quite proud when he mentioned that there was a Christmas tree displayed in the bakery. I said, yes, but no where is the word Christmas and that although modern history thinks the Christmas tree is a symbol of Christmas the real meaning is the birth of Christ. In all honesty, he sounded shocked that I said that.

I plan to go back in a few weeks to see if there is a change.

Afternoon, Jay.

I have heard Donaldson's comment on those same subjects and I agree with you. He does sound ridiculous.
