Use your Windows file browser and see if the CD contains files named with the MP3 extension

Make sure you create the CD as an 'audio' CD and not a 'data' CD.

...or *.WMA. I think the format you want is *.cda (CD Audio)

Yep that'll do it. Some CD players won't recognize audio tracks burned onto a CD-RW disc, but will always recognize audio tracks burned onto a CD-R disc.

You have to make sure you format the CD for music and not just data or it won't work outside your computer. You may want to check to see how you formatted it.

To play in ordinary audio CD players, CDs have to be burned specifically as an audio CD. Otherwise, you're just putting files on the CD in a format that the player won't understand. Whatever burner software you're using should have a "make audio CD" feature. Personally, I use the Nero CD burning software to make my audio (and other) CDs. I think they have a free trial that you can download from their site.

Well, I guess we all agree on the problem and its solution. Aren't FReepers just GRAND? :o)

It seems you need to have another new CD and do it again correctly.

I learned the CD-RW's won't play in my home stereo. :) Luckily I could erase what was on the disc. LOL

The needle scratches the heck out of my CDs.

You have to admit, it makes a nice ambient white noise.

The other thing you need to do is to make sure you 'finalize' the CD (an option on Nero, others handle it as being a 'multisession cd') Most car stereos will not play a CD that is not 'finalized'.

some older auto cd players won't play CD-Rs at all either. You need to make sure the equipment you're using (CD player) is compatible with the media you're using... You will want to use the music CD feature of easy cd creator (if I remember correctly that's what you stated you were using), and you want to burn with the disc at once record method (this will keep extra blank space from between the tracks you burn onto the CD).
