AMERICA - The Right Way!! (WEEKEND EDITION: Days 1393 and 1394) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | November 13, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 11/13/2004 4:54:21 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

American forces now control 80% of Fallujah. The remaining terrorists are now cornered.

Elsewhere:

Final election vote tally:

Bush = 60,480,193

Outgoing AG Ashcroft commented that there are certain judges in America which threaten National Security by ruling contradictory to the President's obligations under international treaties and agreements. Specifically, Ashcroft condemned a judge's ruling that the President's decision that Al Qa'eda members were exempt from the Geneva Conventions was wrong.

The ACLU, naturally, disagreed with Ashcroft.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Well, at least you didn't have to do any decorating for Halloween ... :-)

I am updating the Adware SE. I've never done it before. And the computer guru I hired didn't leave me any directions.

Do you know if there's anything special I need to know. Or do I just follow the prompts?

So, did you roll up little strips of scotch tape to secure red and green ribbons on the kitties at Christmas time.

I bought a new bed for my birthday last year. I looked for a couple of days, and everything was so dark, heavy, and way too ornate. This is the bed I ended up with, I bought a queen size. I really like the color too, it is dark, but not opressingly so. And I put a lavendar/beige/green quilt on it which helps.

This is Linville, the bed I have.

My brother and his wife have the same set, except it is lighter wood, they really like it a lot.

This is Fontana.

Here is the link to Broyhill, I don't really care for most of their furniture, it is too big, ornate, and dark.

I just finished reading a 1939 printing of Thank You, Jeeves. A guy from the Wodehouse newsgroup sent it to me for free a couple of years ago and it's in pretty good shape.

Bertie and Sir Roderick Glossop both blacken their faces to look like the band of "n***** minstrels" who are touring in Chuffnell Regis. Jeeves, of course, uses the phrase "negro minstrels," but Bertie and others use the former.

I don't think there was a racist bone in Wodehouse's body, just as there wasn't a political bone in his body, but just think how much cannon fodder that n-word would give to the PC crowd today.

Whoops! I don't think I used "cannon fodder" in the way I intended. Oh well, it's my bedtime and you can figure it out.

I wish. The sink grinder blew up and stopped up the sink drains. I've been playing plumber.

On the positive side, I did spend some time on the laptop, and I now have GPS software for the laptop that I can use with aerial photos with great accuracy. I have a feeling that capability may be useful next year.

That's very pretty ... and I prefer the darker wood of yours to the lighter wood, though I like both of them.

But this is the sort of thing we were seeing yesterday ...

I had done a lot of looking on-line and saw much of that sort of thing but was surprised to find it in furniture stores, too ... small, locally-owned stores that have been in business for many years.

I just can't imagine what that does to a typical 10 X 12 bedroom ... or even a 12 X 14. YIKES!

And yet these stores must be selling it or they wouldn't be carrying that sort of thing almost exclusively.

When do you head back to your home-away-from-home? And will you be flying our way? Give us a call if you have free time.

I think it's just the typical swing to the dark after so many years of light wood. But you are right, that set would dwarf a normal size bedroom. My bedroom is 14' by 14' and that bed would totally overwhelm the room.

Yikes! Maybe I won't look for furniture. That certainly wouldn't fit in my home.

I will be leaving sometime tomorrow afternoon. I don't know when I'll be through your airport. I guess I should print out my boarding passes (so I'll know when I'm leaving) and make arrangements for a shuttle.... :>)

liberal friends.... a true oxymoron as we have always known(deep in our souls) & are finding reinforced daily. I agree with Iowa.. adios. I have done that with most. refreshing. Lepton's response is great.. I think your two posts would make a great thread.. Might do it tomorrow with your permission????

Fine with me. My oxymoron friend :-) is the lady who baby sat my children when they were young. I have know her for years and, with the exception of her liberal politics" she is a wonderful person :-)

known....not know (sigh) I must be tired tonight.

We are having a misty cool night here on the beautiful North Oregon Coast. I gave in and built a fire for my critters so I could knit without them trying to use me for warmth.

Naw! I think maybe I'll just skip the bed and start sleeping on the floor.

Livingroom furniture is what I need worst. But I'm not going to start looking. The cat is 15 y.o. and as healthy as a horse. No need to let her ruin the new stuff.

#3 is making noises about moving into a place of his own. If he does, I think I'll send the furniture with him and live with only a couple of chairs for a while.
