The same thing is happening here --- and it's not just whites complaining --- many hispanic kids hate the foreign music --- they like rock and other American music if they're American --- many kids say they will leave town when they can --- and very many do just that. It's becoming just like Mexico with a lot of migration out going on --- and the only ones coming in are from Mexico.

Yep, I had a roomate who was second generation and raised in Fresno. He and his pals had no love for Norteno music or Mariachi, and he himself preferred country and rock. One thing I've found with Mexican Americans is that love for their "ancestral" music only lasts for the first generation. As you indicated, however, there is an never ending supply of first generation immigrants in Texas, so we have the situation we are in now.

I don't fault the radio station owners for following the money. Classic rock is a dying demographic.
