Could Bush be elected again? (VANITY)
Posted on 11/10/2004 12:16:38 PM PST by republicanbob1
Something I was thinking today. Could bush be elected again? I was thinking he was appointed by the Supreme Court in 2000 and this time he was elected. So technically he was only elected once. So could he run again? Im sure Bush wont run again Im not saying that at all. Just something I was curious about.

I believe he won the election but the supreme court had the final say in the election or am I wrong? He was elected. The Supreme Court did not have the final say on the "election. It had the final say on whether or not the Florida Supreme Court overstepped its bounds by ordering the recounts to continue. If the Court had not acted, the voting still would have resulted in George W. Bush being certified the winner of Florida's electoral votes. The media follow-up counts proved that, ad nauseum.

>>You could enrage lefties who insist Bush was not elected in 2000. Say, when he runs again in 2008 it's ok with you right?<<
I'm going to start using this... I think it will work with some of the DIM witted lefties I know.
But first you need to get them a little enraged with the argument that he was properly elected and then, once the hook is set... go with the "Then you wouldn't mind...

I may be being naive, but you don't sound like a troll to me. Of course, it always helps to read the entire thread.

Contrary to what democrats believe, the US Supreme Court told the Florida Supreme Court that Florida had to abide by the rules that were in place when the election was held.
The democrats wanted to recount only certain very democratic counties until they were able to manufacture enough votes to call Gore the winner.
That was against Fla. own election laws and the US SC made them stop.
Got it now? It's really not that difficult to understand.

The answer is "no", republicanbob1. Sean Hannity had an hour on his show yesterday or Monday, inviting Libs to call in and they had 30 seconds in which to "get it all out", so maybe they could get over losing.
One of the knuckleheads called him and said that Bush could actually run again in 2008 because he was "selected, not elected" in 2000. He was a raving lunatic, too, I tell ya. Wow!

You have conservative blog. I have warts on my hands. Who cares. If your blog is no more well-informed than this post, it's useless.
You're speaking in DU talking points. Don't be silly. I don't care what you do. When you use DU talking points, you're a troll.

I agree with you. The mantra that "Bush was Selected not Elected" means that he can be elected in 2008. Good.

I think we had a poorly worded post by a newbie. Check #70. He is trying to dig out. If he survives he will be stronger for it.

You may not be a troll, rb1. But unfortunately you signed up and right off displayed troll-like behavior. So of course the kitties are waking up and coming over to see what the commotion is about. If you're legit, and not a disruptor, hang in there. If you're not, well, KITTY WANTS TO PLAY WITH YOU!!!!

Im not saying bush was appointed. I believe he won the election but the supreme court had the final say in the election or am I wrong?I think you are wrong. Even if the Supreme Court ruling to stop the recounts had gone against Bush, the US House of Representatives was preparing to put an end to the charade. The US House must 'certify' the Electoral Count Vote. If there were 2 results (2 different sets of electors coming out of Florida), the House, being controlled by republicans, would have selected the Republican slate of electors from Florida. End of story.
