Who would you nominate to be Secretary of State?
I believe that a Charles Keating financed Senator would be an unwise choice!
McCain isn't going anywhere. The Governor of Arizona is a Democrat and we can't afford to lose that seat in the Senate.
I think there's a clause somewhere that prevents a retired general from running DoD for a certain period after retiring.
Newt at State sounds great to me...but would his past come back to haunt him in confirmation hearings?
Colin Powell.
Move Rumsfeld to Sec of State and put in Zell Miller as SecDef.
Oh yeah, revert the Defense Department to the War Department.
A guy like me could never get elected.
Who else?
Oh, puleez.
The job ain't open, there's a good man in the job that you insult with your question.
We won this election, but some on the right aren't happy unless they are complaining.
When, and if, the job becomes available, we can discuss our wish lists... until then, this kind of backstabbing is undeserved and divisive to what should be a great victory period!
Agreed.
Another mention of Rudy, the most overrated politician in America.
You just don't like him becasue you live in Bay Ridge.
I'm so glad you suggested Joe Lieberman first! I was afraid I'd get flamed.
Think of how much we'd annoy the world by having a Jewish SOS. Also, it'd be a great example of W "reaching across the aisle" not to mention opening up another possible seat in the Senate for an R.
Newt. I see Condi as a techician. We need people who can effectively sell conservatism.
Now I'm stuck in Seattle with Jay Leno lookalike latte liberal Greg Nickels.
Oh, the howls his nomination would set off among the MSM! Simultaneously nominating Ashcroft for the next Supreme Court vacancy would cause half of those loons to implode... ;)
Too hardcore?
Yes. And-say what you will about Joe, but the man's a patriot. He's a Northeastern liberal on domestic issues, but he's a hawk on foreign policy and always has been. He would serve us well in that capacity. And, Connecticut has an R governor. His replacement would probably be a Republican along the lines of an Arlen Specter, but at least we'd have one more number in our majority. Can't hurt in the least.
What? You Moved to Seattle? YOu could have just moved to Brooklyn Heights - the Weather is just as bad.
If anybody goes, that bum must go.
