Sorry folks, I don't think this is over

Posted on 11/03/2004 7:34:57 PM PST by Capitalism2003

I don't believe the dems will give us so easily. Kerry may have conceded, but it means NOTHING legally. His army of 20,000 lawyers did not evaporate. They are still in Ohio, and you can bet they will be doing everything possible to "find" kerry 130,000 out of those 200,000 provisional ballots. They will find a sympathetic liberal judge that orders all of them to be counted (rather than the 10-20% that are traditionally valid), and they may get the electors for Kerry. If this happens, the concession was irrelevant and Kerry will be President. I'm praying our side isn't getting complacent. The left wing activists are absolutely rabid now. They have everything invested in this election, financially and emotionally...and they won't be going quietly. I hope the Bush team isn't getting complacent. They need to keep up the fight until the electors finalize the election next month.

If Kerry tries to unearth the provies now, both Democrats and Republicans would descend upon him with wrath.

I think there will be at least a month before the dems. start planning a watergate style takedown of the president, so enjoy the moment.

impeachment would be a poison pill for a Hillary run. you don't push impeachment on a President with a 3.6 million vote popular majority.

You've definitely set the all-time record here for doom and gloom. Thought we were past all that today.

Ohio has dealt with provisional ballots in almost every election. You get a provisional ballot because when you show at the polling place, they can't verify you are an eligible voter, so they give you a provisional ballot. About 90% of them are usually thrown out, because the person wasn't eligible to vote. Of the 10% left, in no way would it tilt the election.

Don't make me state the obvious.

Without a stolen election the Dem base will further erode. Ergo...

They don't need the "power", they just need to float the idea and let the MSM start a runnin...It's their MO.

Impeachment originates in the House, Dems are a smaller minority then they used to be. They won't impeach anyone.

But...and I do agree it's over...Something Edwards said today has left me thinking...He said so arrogantly and cocky that they will count the votes. So why bother counting the votes if it's over? That was fishy, I admit.

Can't you have just one day when you can feel good about something that has happened to us conservatives? Just one day of joy and relaxing, basking in the glow of victory? Letting Bush have a great day of rest and satisfaction after two years of struggle. Enough for Gods sakes!
