Sigh... and now comes the logistic problem. How do I get enough clothing into my suitcase? Can I take two dresses, considering that each needs different shoes? Is it possible to take my hat?

Yeah, at this point that's the only way it'll get there. I'll look like an idiot, of course, fancy hat with jeans and big bulky winter coat.
Ok, only one dress... oh well.

I've got three bags: a suitcase, tiny, which will get checked. It barely holds three days' clothes plus dress. A small square tote bag stuffed and re-stuffed with the Christmas presents. And my backpack, which probably holds more than the other two items.... the first two are full. How am I going to get my computer, accessories, books for the plane, snacks for the plane, things I promised to bring home, and music all in there? Answer: I'm not.
I need a real suitcase.
Very exciting... as a luggage problem.
Not quite that big...
Perhaps one that's nice and not too expensive?
Or one that follows me along on little legs and eats people. That would be good too.
I don't have money for a suitcase that I use twice a year, anyway. I'll make do. Mom does six loads of laundry every day, anyway, so I don't actually need more than two days' worth of clothes.
You know, if you could pack stuff safely, you could check a cardboard box.
Not attractive, but functional.
Or, you could get an older, inexpensive suitcase at a ~pawn shop~.

Heh... might work... I'm not sure I can go into ~pawn shops~, though, the Toaster might get me.

I got along for years with just a military duffel bag...I think they're only a few bucks. Too late for now, though.
Only catch is that they ain't got wheels. I had one time where I packed it reallllly full while it was sitting on my bed, sat down to get the straps on, and then when I stood up the weight of it knocked me over backwards and I had to take it off before I could stand up.
Luckily no one was watching. ;-)
Once I was expecting the weight it was OK...could balance. But I just sat and laughed for a bit after that - it took me by surprise.

And I don't have anything I HAVE to do tonight. I'm still so happy about finishing Teresa's book! I'm inordinately proud of that thing. Guess I'll let myself feel that way until I start into seriously editing it in a month or two. I know my feelings will change.

Good! I'm packed except for the things to put in at the last minute. And the hat. Guess I'll wear it. I believe in traveling light... I hate even checking things... but the Christmas presents screwed things up this time.
Must remember to leave Hobbit Hole knife home!
