The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yes. Do you use Windows Media Player? That handles everything for you if you want to create a disk from MP3s that you can play, say, in the car. If you want to create a disk of MP3s, which would hold more but can only be played by an MP3 player, you'd just burn the MP3s onto a cd.

Just a standard CD burner works fine - just put the mp3s on it and burn it as a data CD. In my software at least, if you burn it as an "Audio CD" it converts the mp3s back to their original format, so the disc would play in any audio CD player. Then you lose the benefits of it being an mp3 disc, of course.

Our wedding reception music was an mp3 disc burned this way... it was handy to have a 4+-hour playlist on one disc!

I think I'll have a nice cup of coffee...

Would you pick me up a pumpkin spice latte on your way thru?

Heh! Although dwarves usually know the inside of a person's larder better than the person the larder belongs to, in this case you missed the mark. I can offer a cup of Hazelnut Creme...

Just got my clothes off the line and let the chickens out to scrounge up whatever bits of green grass they can find...got five eggs today, bless 'em!

We just finished with school...an easy day...took 2 hours off just to let the boys watch CyberChase...I see some value in that show.

Matthew says he's going to do some of his work for tomorrow tonight, so he can get it done early and play on the computer tomorrow before Steve gets home. (Steve gets home at 4:30pm now leaving the jedis precious little time to play Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, you know...)

But we're all looking forward to the next two weeks...sleep late, no work to do, go to bed late! It's gonna be GREAT!

Got Latin today...wonder if we do next week? Surely not...

Hello! Just back from the "Holiday Reception". It was wonderous, as my boss would say. I ate too much.

I just finally got home and am having a cup of Celestial Seasonings Tangerine Zinger tea! Clare and I did Hydrobics, then went to lunch with the gang. It took so long to get our food that we had to leave the minute it was brought out. I'd thought that might be the case so Clare just ordered some Mozzarella toast. I had to get a haircut this afternoon, and couldn't move the appt. cause the girl was busy all day! Did make it, 10 mins. late! It didn't take that long, so we stopped by Michael's Crafts to get Clare some more eyelash yarn to finish a scarf she's making. By that time, it was almost time to get Joseph at school, so we went on ny there.

Now I have to go back up to the parish to finish decorating the HUGH 60" wreath that will go up on the Pastoral Center, and the smaller 36" wreath that will go up on the outside wall of the sacristy over the entry to the Parish Hall. I did some of it last night, and left it in the Parish Hall to go back and finish today. I want the Custodian to have plenty of time to hang it. I'm hoping he'll do it tomorrow so they'll be up for the weekend.

Thanks!

I'm not sure my grade is at all based on the test (long story) but I need to do pretty well anyway.

Wow...busy day!!!

Speaking of Bugs (and we were, weren't we...at one time or other?) Steve went to a place that had one for sale...35K...too much right now. But he said he visited with the guy for a long time.

The significant thing is that Steve actually took some time out of his lunch hour and did something concerning something I'm very interested in! I was impressed and said so. His reply?

"I'm in to it."

ROFLOL!! He's so funny. "I'm in to it." That's real enthusiasm coming from Steve.

Here's one you can buy now for $17,900. I think it's ugly and wouldn't pay 10 cents for it.

to get Clare some more eyelash yarn to finish a scarf

Wow... they'd have to cut a lot of eyelashes to get enough to spin yarn.
