Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I'm listening to The Boston Camerata CD, "A Renaissance Christmas". It includes some lovely French and Spanish carols, and they are accompanied by recorders, some early violins, hand held drums, and some mellow brass. Some of it is like dance music.
I also have some CD's that are Christmas carols done by a string quartet. The music would accompany a dinner party quite nicely.
I've taken to leaving many of my indoor lights up well into March. The sunlight gets so dim, and it's so dreary, we need something to provide some sparkle!
Sang that this afternoon. ;o)
So is the Christmas production all done for this year?
Yep, I'd love to see it!
I first got into music with the Beatles in 1963, when I was 10. My brother had a great album collection, and when he'd come home from the AF Academy for summer break or whenever, and we'd have his records, I'd listen to them continually. Probably ruined half of them from mis-use, but I don't remember him yelling at me. He had some Simon and Garfunkel, but also Janis Joplin, and some hard core blues. I guess that's why I enjoy all kinds of music nowadays, except rap, which is crap! ;o) Singing along with the Beatles and Simon and Garfunkel taught me harmony, so that led me to be an alto when I joined the school chorus, or did Midnight Mass at Christmas.
Hurray!

But it sounds like some good things were going on during this show...I know these kinds of things can really pull a group together. I've been in a couple. (I once played the possessed fortune-teller that Jesus healed...betcha can't believe that...)
