The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I love the "you're going the wrong way" scene.

How would they know where we're going?

I'm sensing that the RATS are falling back on their spiritual leader's (LBJ) dictum: Keep counting the votes to you like the outcome, then stop.

That's what Gregoire is up to when she says: Make sure they are all counted. She's really only interested in counting until she takes the lead -- then she'll say it's finished and should stop.

Evening Ruthee, T-Day count down well underway, commencing with LSA's homemade potato soup this evening. :-)

We're going out with Tim and Sonya now for dinner...

Sonya is counting down to only a couple weeks until her life is no longer her own, and she wants to go out.

Tim's been prepping to be an observer for the Rossi campaign should there be a hand recount. Heck - we sent in our names if they need people, thought it'd be interesting.

Well...my pie is in the oven! We'll see how it turns out! Thanks to your advice, I put foil on the crust - phew!

And now I have another crust. I'm thinking if I'm not exhausted by the time the pecan pie is done, I may bake an apple pie and just put a streusel topping on it. That way I only need the bottom - and I wanted to make an apple pie anyway! Don't remember if I have brown sugar, though. Must check.

Yeah, I could read that subtext in Gregoire's comments.

"We need to make sure that every vote for me is counted."

Interestingly though, I just some Dem commissioner (I think) from King County saying that everyone should just send the lawyers back to DC and call the race... that the same person won the count and the recount, and enough is enough. That kinda surprised me.

I have that on video.

Or did. Until my brothers stole it.

Lot of language...but it's kind of essential to the story. Like at the car rental place.

Potato soup. Sounds delicious!

My mom's doing the turkey now, seasoning and dressing it. Then she'll cook it slow overnight so when we wake up it's the first thing we smell.

mmmmmmmmm...........

Unfortunately, my oldest younger brothers get to watch that movie. So the car rental scene is muted. I have no clue what the dialogue is there other than it must be quite impressive.

Wow...seems like it was such a short time ago that she found out!

But then, it was before the wedding by quite a bit, no? Guess time flies when you're havin' fun...

It has...umm...extensive use of the "f" word.

Impressive is a good word.

Give my best to Sonya and Tim!

And Sonya is VERY wise going out now while she can. She'll be glad she did while she could. ;-D

Honestly, I think the other thread was shocked into insensibility by the starter admitting how he pursued the one girl. There were a few vague attempts at resucitation, but...

I really don't like this bidness where they can challenge and force a hand count, but get to cherry-pick the precincts they want. It outta be all or nuthin.

I thought someone ought to speak up for all the women who no doubt read that, said, "uhhh...." and hoped they lived a good five hundred miles away... dunno if the poor guy is just clueless or, um, needs to be medicated.

Honestly, my response if someone acted like that to me would be two-fold; restraining order and concealed carry permit.
