How beautiful!
This is gonna be a good holiday season for you, isn't it. I'm so glad.
One problem with Marines is the "don't send one to me, send it all to the troops" attitude. While an admirable attitude, the Hobbit Hole strives to serve all our troops, even the ossifers. So, for Col Gangster and Cpt String, we have these little goodies:
That is a great looking pie "never made one before" that is hard to believe, but if you say so. LSA
Hehehe!! That'll show 'em! ;-)
Very cool! Custom monogram knives!
300WM; way to go, they can't turn it down, it's been personalized. That was a really great idea.
Most excellent!
Yup, that's the way ours looks too, right OT?
Andrew (Celeste's husband...Steve's friend) got his second deer. Sigh....
Oh well, he brought us a bunch of ground meat and a hugh loin...gonna make burgers for the jedis tonight. Steve isn't coming in from school till late.
Thank you! I really haven't. But I had a recipe... pies just weren't the dessert of choice at my house, that's all. And at Thanksgiving Mom usually made the pies two days early while I was at work.
I'm just so tickled!
It's good because Steve is coming home and the snow is beautiful. I just can't get all warm and fuzzy feelings about cold weather.
Trying to convince my wife to move to Florida but she says all the kids and grand kids are around here.
I tell her that's an argument in MY favor (Just kidding though)
Oh how pretty! You know I hate driving in the stuff, but standing INSIDE looking out at it is really kinda nice. ;o)
It's kinda sacriligious, me being from the South and all, but I don't really like Pecan Pie that much. It is WAY TOO sweet for me; it hurts my teeth! I can eat a really small sliver, and that's about it. What I DO like are the little Pecan Tassies my Mama used to make, and that I've made before. The crust is made from flour, cream cheese and butter, then pressed into little cupcake tins. They're baked a little, then the Pecan Pie mixture is put in them. Since there is not a lot of filling, it's not so sickly sweet.
I like Sweet Potato pie, with just a splash of bourbon in the mixture. ;o)
ROTFL! That WOULD make a great stocking stuffer for him. I won't tell, if you don't! ;o)
Pecan pies are my once-a-year delight. It's the only pie I really like. Sweet potato pie? That sounds very Southern?
Sounds like a job for Advil!
Just beautiful!! Now they CAN'T give them away!
But just think how much they'd like to come see you on vacation! (and the Mouse, too)
Oh yeah! Actually, I make a Sweet Potato Souffle that is great because when you eat it cold as leftovers, it's just like eating the pie, but without the fatty, starchy crust!
But fat and starch is the main point of Thanksgiving...
