Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Reminds me a bit of this favorite album of mine...

Sorry to have missed you last weekend...things have been nutty with work and illnesses around here.
To: Ramius
TEchnicaly, I am still up, but alas I am the only one ~up~ over here. Perhaps I should at least try to get to bed tonight. Last night I was up until about 4 am.

Good times were had.

"technically up" is still "up".
No rest for the wicked, as I well know. :-)

Saw the pics, looks like y'all lived it up pretty good.
To: Ramius

I think I am going to try to sleep a little tonight. Not sure how successful this attempt will be, but at least I will have tried!

Yessir... lived it up. Those guys had earned it. :-)
Lots of good moments that evening. "Props" were done to those that didn't come home. "Props" were done to those that did. "Props" were done to the poor donkey that was pictured. :-) Okay... we didn't really toast to the donkey but we should have...
I left there really impressed with the overwhelming sense of quality of the men that we send in harm's way. It was humbling in every way.

I would never imply such a thing. Any wickedness, express or implied, is mine and mine alone. :-)

Hi!
Gee, life is much better with a solid meal of Mexican, two margaritas, and chocolate inside. I might even get a bit of homework in tonight!

Just two Margaritas?
Two?
"When you, grasshopper, can snatch this shotglass from my hand, then you will be ready." :-)
I'll agree with you though, about the filling quality of a good Mexican dinner. Nothing says "full up" like a good big plate of shredded beef Chimichanga.

One at the restaurant. Drove home, convinced a fellow dinner person to drive me to the dessert place. One there. Was driven home. One to finish off and write today's goal... ah...

Fine and truly done. Responsibly so.
At the next moot... we'll talk about car bombs. :-)
Niters. Time for me to bug out.

Guess who's at 40k? And the last 2k were pretty decent, and easy, and I think set up the grand finale! Woo-hoo!
