Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You know...I'm tempted to change my tagline.
And I don't do it very often!

Most of the time I'm okay. Still have the cough sometimes. But at least I'm learning to sense when it's coming and I can either avoid it or deal with it more quickly.

I'm worried since winter is practically upon you and I can't imagine it will help.
I'll keep praying for your complete recovery!
And never forget you've got friends in SoFla if you need a warm, humid climate to heal up! *smile*

Heh; a piece of sticky tape = hours of entertainment, guess PetCo toys isn't going to make their sales goal with your cat. :-) Nope! They're like kids, I guess...give 'em the fanciest toys and they'll ignore 'em, but a paper bag and a couple of pieces of tape will keep them entertained for hours on end.

Ya know, it's those Birkenstock & granola environmentalists that gives us Whites Boots & deer jerky conservationists a bad name. Luckily we thrive on abuse.
To: RMDupree
I'm much better than I was. I think I'll hold off over the weekend before I call the doctor again. It's really probably worse because of leaf dust, and dog hair, and construction dust (here at the house) and stage construction dust...
I'd bet without all those irritants, I'd be much better much more quickly.

Yeah, I don't think they eat people, but we didn't bring the thing in the boat before cutting it loose!
Nobody keeps fish anymore that they're not going to use, but that saw surely would have made a good trophy to hang on the wall.
Cool election!

Yep, that's what I'm doing. Watching Mister Ed and expounding on the philosophy that good girls don't shop at pawnshops.

I finished my wordcount for the day and have been goofing around for a bit.
I don't like my writing. A journal was a dumb idea. But hey, it's easy to make word count, at least.
I won't be doing it again, though, unless it's the journal of someone from another dimension. THAT could be interesting.
