Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Yah... and i still feeling like party'n. Been doin' the happy dance all week. :-)
Just had some hot chocolate with Baileys in it. That's about as close to partying as I get all on my lonesome. ;-)
Evenin' everyone!
Thank heavens tomorrow is Friday!
Not that this hasn't been a most delightful week! *wink*
Fridays are good even during the best of weeks!
Amen to that!
I soooo wanted to take the day off tomorrow and really should have, but my payroll partner beat me to the punch and has taken her 10th trip to Disney this year. Grrrr....
I get so aggravated having her as my partner because she takes every halfway decent time slot and I've got to scrounge for my time.
That's why we've got to settle on a ShootMoot date soon, so I can claim it WAY in advance! *grin*
I may not want to drink any of the Lord's wine, have enough trouble with the regular nectar!
OTOH, a cold beer is reasonably excellent at the end of a good day of fishing. Kept a 20 pound snook for eating, lost another one that size when it was swallowed by a shark, probably a bull. Takes a big mouth to swallow a 20# fish in one bite. All the while, there were mullet and pilchards everywhere, being busted nonstop by tarpon, snook and sharks, constant splashes and boils, and jumping fish, in a steady ebb current near Cape Sable, where the Everglades meet the Gulf of Mexico, muddy water. All this in about 4 feet of water.
Was the guest of a well known fisherman in these parts, on board his 18 foot skiff. He kept telling me not to stand on the covering board, said if I fell overboard, he doubted I'd be able to get back aboard, with the crazy sharks. Not sure if he was completely right about that, but we fought lots of 'em on our fishing poles, and saw lots of fins gliding around.
Yeah, you are right, fishing and being on the water are a religious experience.
Heh...you would go and post that just as Ruthy wandered in! Sound like your kinda party, Ruthy? ;-)
Good evening, Sam!
Evening ALL;
OT: yep, Sat. a.m. right after Gypsy girl's walk. Realy good call on two guys ana truck moving co. for the furniture.
Rosie: heh, cats are amazing little critters. 'Course if she was a 'rat cat, she would have had at least two 'I Voted' sticky things on her. So we've got to give her our side.
Sam: a sawfish, super cool. Those are some fish. Did you use a bait fish or a lure?
*shudder*
I would simply die on that boat. Yikes.
She's no Democat! ;-)
Turns out what happened is that my brother dropped his when they were over and didn't pick it up. Which explains the mystery! She's fascinated by sticky things, so of course had to play with it. Give her a piece of tape and she's entertained for hours...
Evening; got to say, it was darn easy to see party affiliation at work on Wednesday. Some looked realllyyy bad off. We were debating if we should call a suicide watch on a few of them. We're still debating that one though.
Hi Rutheee!!!! I've been sitting here in the watering hole... trying to keep up with the thread, but there's this Telco salesman dude that has been sitting next to me since I got here... I hate telco salesdroids.
Keeps droning on and on and on... then I made the mistake of letting him know I was an IT director... jeeez... the bling bling cha-ching salespitch started up....
I've been trying to figure out whether if I just claw my face off with a fork right here and now... maybe he'd be creeped out and just leave me alone.
But [whew] he just left.
[sigh]
Sawfish are incredibly cool. I wish I could've seen that one you caught!
Besides, they don't eat people. ;-D
Roger that. There is something quite spiritual about fishing. Maybe that's why Jesus and the disciples liked to use that metaphor so much. They were fishermen too. :-)
Sam, salt water fishing is a whole nuther ball game for sure. That's another one I never heard of.
Hi there!!! I'm glad the evil salesman finally left you alone!
Dealing with my internal salesguys at work pretty much wears my patience down to a nub, so I'm not very tolerant of anyone trying to push a sale on me outside of the office.
I see through the fecal matter they're throwing. ;-D
Heh; a piece of sticky tape = hours of entertainment, guess PetCo toys isn't going to make their sales goal with your cat. :-)
How 'bout that.
Yah... my office here in Bvue is almost all in the Environmental Science part of the company. Its Birkenstock and granola though and through. At the office I keep my politics to myself pretty much, but everybody pretty much knows what I'm about.
I've just been walking around smiling. It seems to be sufficiently annoying to them. The guy who sits and listens to Air America all day via streaming audeo-- he's been in a real funk. Bummer.
