I may not want to drink any of the Lord's wine, have enough trouble with the regular nectar!

OTOH, a cold beer is reasonably excellent at the end of a good day of fishing. Kept a 20 pound snook for eating, lost another one that size when it was swallowed by a shark, probably a bull. Takes a big mouth to swallow a 20# fish in one bite. All the while, there were mullet and pilchards everywhere, being busted nonstop by tarpon, snook and sharks, constant splashes and boils, and jumping fish, in a steady ebb current near Cape Sable, where the Everglades meet the Gulf of Mexico, muddy water. All this in about 4 feet of water.

Was the guest of a well known fisherman in these parts, on board his 18 foot skiff. He kept telling me not to stand on the covering board, said if I fell overboard, he doubted I'd be able to get back aboard, with the crazy sharks. Not sure if he was completely right about that, but we fought lots of 'em on our fishing poles, and saw lots of fins gliding around.

Yeah, you are right, fishing and being on the water are a religious experience.

Heh...you would go and post that just as Ruthy wandered in! Sound like your kinda party, Ruthy? ;-)

Good evening, Sam!

Roger that. There is something quite spiritual about fishing. Maybe that's why Jesus and the disciples liked to use that metaphor so much. They were fishermen too. :-)
