Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

OK...but let's keep the bawdy songs to a minimum... Aw, but there goes most of my SCA song book, then...
To: The Flying Dutchman
Well, I haven't had enough coffee to feel really bawdy anyhow.

I was simply, amazed on the gizmos and what not on a coffee maker these days. Heh. My coffee maker is one step up from a stove and a pot of water: plug it in, it's on. Unplug it, it's off. Well I've got a "Fredo". I can have the toaster kill "Fredo" and then introduce "Vito".

'Morning! I just re-arranged my computing environment.

Nope. Moved the desks closer together in a corner L. Neither desk was big enough for the box and the new monitor.
To: Overtaxed

I still have to find a place for the printer, the scanner, and the cat.
To: Overtaxed
The cat likes it on top of the scanner, if I recall... so there's only two spots you have to find ;~D

Argh. My heroine is insisting on falling head-over-heels for the Mysterious Stranger. Which she is supposed to do, but not so rapidly. And she's NOT supposed to be obsessing about this for paragraphs and paragraphs. For NaNo purposes - let her obsess! All the better!
My character took up an unrealistic dislike for the guy I'm gonna stick her with in the end, and went on for pages about how annoying he is when he obviously isn't...that bothers me, but I'm not gonna edit 'em out. Can use the word count.
I'm sure you've passed me at this point. I didn't really write at all yesterday - a paltry 500 words. I'm still not so far behind that I can't catch up, but I'm hoping to surpass 2000 today. We'll see. I think I'm gonna go back to the notebook and pen for a bit...sometimes it's easier to think that way. Plus I can go out to Dad's and sit by the fire with pen and paper in hand and without any FR to distract me...

Good Afternoon, since it's 12:02 by our computer clock. Sounds like a plan re Vito. Desks and computers, they just don't always work together as well as they could. Took some real figuring to get LSA's computer stuff to work with our desk, but it works well now.
To: Overtaxed
Luckily for us, the old cat enjoys the radiator and she leaves the computer stuff alone.
To: osagebowman
Usually, Miss Cat is just looking for a comfortable place to sleep while I'm on the computer.

I love being able to wake up to already brewed coffee!! When I fix the pot the night before, I just make sure I turn on the timer!

DVD players are super cheap now you knowHeh, SSQ just scored a progressive scan DVD player on e-bay for $10. With shipping, it was a whopping $20!
Now we're looking for a nice DLP TV on which to view our DVDs. ;o)
