No, but if you want someone interesting to consider for '08, I wonder if Mike Huckaby (Arkansas) would be it. I wasn't familiar with him other than what I'd heard, but the other night he was on some show. Articulate as hell and appears to be extremely intelligent. Would definitely do a great job in debates and forensic performance.

Also someone to have as Republican candidate for '08... John Carter (Texas - District 31) extremely conservative and a great guy... I'd vote for him most definitely!!

If we have to have a pro murder president, I would truly prefer it to be a Democrat.

well, if the alternative was hilllary clinton, then I would.

With Schwarz., at least we know where he stands. He wants to be number one in whatever he does, and he wants to win, period. He may be the most generally successful alpha male in public political life in the US today, and could probably win a US presidential election. His policies are far to the left of my ideals, but the choices we are given in the future may make him look good.

"Should congress allow such an amendment?"

This is an aside, but the congress does not need to enter its view into a constitutional amendment. 3/4 of states have to ratify one, with or without congress, if my memory serves.

No! I like Ahnold, but then I like to watch the animals in the zoo frolicking in the tall grass, too.

I would NEVER vote for an amendment to allow a foreign born to be President. If we let one, we'll have to let all.

:O)

"I would NEVER vote for an amendment to allow a foreign born to be President. If we let one, we'll have to let all."

We, as well as Congress, are not needed to vote one into law.

The state legislatures are the ones who would have to do this.

WoofDog123...

I misstated my intent. I meant to say I would never vote for a foreign born candidate for President, nor would I want an amendment to the Constitution to pass that would allow one to be a candidate.

It does, in fact, require just that.

go here: http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/data/constitution/article02/

Currently there are bills circulating in the House and the Senate to do just that. One by, the overrated, Orin Hatch(et)

Arnold's great. However I would have to vote No on a constitution change. If he was born in the US....Maybe.

Our constitution is very clear. Arnold must be a naturally born citizen of the United States to become president.

The constitution is not a "living, changing document" subject to the whim and will of every two-bit politician that comes along.

No, I will not support a constitutional amendment allowing for a foreign "could be Hitler" to take control of our government.

We have plenty of good honest men in this country. Why would we want to import one?
