E.D. Hill on Fox News was wrong about her Barbara Bush Story!

E.D. Hill’s told a story today on Fox&Friends about Barbara Bush that I don't believe ever happened.

In order to be “fair and balance”, she came up with a story about Barbara Bush, Connie Chung, and Geraldine Ferraro.

She said that Connie Chung asked Barbara Bush what she thought of Geraldine Ferraro and Barbara Bush said she couldn’t say it. Connie Chung said to whisper it in her ear and then Connie repeated that it rhymed with "Witch".

Now I remember when this incident happened. It was Newt Gingrich’s mother (not in politics) and she was talking about Hillary.

I don’t believe the same thing happened with Barbara Bush!

As I remember it, Barbara Bush said it about Geraldine Ferrario aboard an airplane during the 1984 election.

You're right. It was Newt Gingrich's mother. I remember thinking the same thing when she mentioned Barbara Bush.

But Ferraro was the CANDIDATE - not the spouse.

Barbara Bush did make a comment like this, but it was not to Connie Chung.

I also believe that Mrs. Bush maintains that the word she used was "witch" not "bitch".

She also said it after some very unkind comments were made about her husband, comments that she felt were inappropriate and that had no bearing on the issues.

Looks like they reached a consensus. Maybe it is an apt description.

The story happened in 1988 when Barbara Bush commented on Geraldine Ferraro. I believe it was in connection with Ferraro's husband's financial statements. At that point, the Bushes had a net worth of $3-million and the Ferraro's were worth $4-million all the while Geraldine was yipping about the Bushes' wealth. Ultimately, there was an investigation of her husband's real estate dealings because of it and I think he got fined for back taxes (or something). It was all a very long time ago, in the world of politics.

By the way, Barbara used the word "witch". It was never clear whether she specifically said "witch" or "rhymes with witch".

>ED Hill is an idiot.

Indeed, I've wanted to make this point but could never manage to make it as polite as you did ;>

It's nice to know I'm not the only one that cringes at her ham-handiness.

Steve Doocey is a bit much too, if you know what I mean, he's the stereo-typical zany-weatherman from hell, his lot in life I reckon, -this is Fox's dumbing down.. Sadly, it has to be done to garner ratings I call it the "Bob Saget Phenomenon"

He had the original America's funnies home videos. for years he was Americas most loved most revered celebrity, yet everyone (that I knew)thought he was a complete idiot.

Hence, the Bob Saget Syndrome.

One of the female weekend Fos News women, I can't recall her name but she mentioned that she "Just happened to be at a Kerry/Edwards breakfast fundraiser the other day," just happened to be!

Yes, you are right...my jaw dropped when I heard Hill state it was Barbara Bush when in fact it was Newt Gingrich's mother. Shame on Edie.....but I think she's too upset by Mama T's remarks about working women and stay at home moms.

I remember the interview, Barbara Bush did say that and wrote about it later with regret.

We like her around here? Most of the posts I've seen about ED Hill on here has been discontent.

I remember the interview. Mrs. Bush did it. In the context of the interview, she came over as very down to earth and funny, and was made in general in response to some comments by Ms. Ferraro that were either very mean spirited or outright lies (as i remember it).

It's true.

She's really confused. She'll probably vote Democratic.

Brian, is that you? Are you still in your PJ's and why aren't you at your book signing in California today, or as E.D. stated, you're crying your eyes out because the Yanks lost?....
