Like the kid next door who, when I left the townhouse I'd bought 2 months earlier with the intention of renting it out to my brother, and sat down inside of a 1988 Ford Mustang 5.0 in desparate need of a paint job, asked me: "Do you work for the Homeowner's Association?".

You should've seen his jaw fall when I said, "No, actually, I own this house".

He hoped to pull the crowd to his side as the "Big Brother" or father figure
that is going to take care of every need of people who don't make lots of money (e.g.,
