Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone! It was a pretty good day. Dad gave me a coupla books (one by an author I've not read...Jeffrey Archer?), my littlest sis gave me a couple of pens (my favorite present, I think), and the others gave me a VCR...mine is busted. Truthfully...I wasn't planning on replacing it, so I'm feeling a little ungrateful and therefore guilty, but it IS more convenient having it.
We just broke it in...I can now say I've seen "Little Shop of Horrors". Whew...that was bizarre! I about died laughing during the Bill Murray / Steve Martin dentist scene.
Now to do a little writing before bed...and catch up here!

"You were really excited. Gosh you're such a geek!" Heh...I love it!
I'll have to scan in the card my brother made for me. It's pretty funny.

You gotta be the last one to know :)
One of my cousins and I are setting up in a vey hugh nice two bedroom, 1 and 3/4 bath apt south of town. This gets me out of the 1914 building I've been in the last 4.5 years, and my cousin out of his sister's spare bedroom and basement.
I still have this: I "built" the new place in "The Sims and screen capped it so y'all can see.

Mine is the room with the dbl bed and bookcases...I also get the attached 3/4 bath as my Very Own. My cousin takes the other room, and has ownership...and cleaning responsibility...for the full bath which is also for guests.
The patio is really a 3rd floor balcony (model rocketry? hmm), and the blue fridge is really the HVAC.

I feel for Margaret with the tires. I've killed two this year because they ran out of air, and I didn't notice in time and ruined them! You'd think I would have noticed, but the dang roads in Worcester were so bumpy, I couldn't tell the tire was that low! I began to feel like the tires were a trash magnet and kept picking up nails, etc, so when I got the last one replaced, I bought the replacement insurance on it! It was only $10, but it gave me peace of mind!
