Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Evening; watched the debates and I was very proud of our President tonight. Very well done. A bit surprised a couple times there were no zots at some the 'the other one's' sonorous musings.
Ramius - come on, we know you had to draw three times before you got "ihaveaplan" as your drinking word. :-)
Overtaxed-good move on the gutters, they are hard to take down and harder to put back up. Miss kitty will like the sun room w/door setup.
The slow connection seems a bit slower tonight. LSA got me a new Don Coldsmith novel of the spanish bit series so I'm ready to head back to the 1800s.

Good debate, we had fun but were a little pessimistic, probably the result of our sad coding. I was suprised when the instant-pundits on Fox all said Bush won...
Mailed you some cookies ;-)

I didn't have a good feel for who was winning, mostly because it pretty repetitive since I'd heard the other two.
I should be in bed...it's after eleven. But I wanna finish just a little more writing before I do.
I have a feeling Fitness Hobbit is gonna lose out tomorrow morning. Oops.

Just in time for my birthday, too. ;-)

Thanks for the suggestions. I've seen just enough of Lupin to be turned off by the art (go figure) and I'm not really into live-actions for some reason, but I will investigate all the others!
Do you read MegaTokyo?

Hullo!
Dubya made me proud again tonight. When he teared up talking about meeting Laura and "love at first sight", I admit I got a bit choked up myself.
Gotta love that man!

Oh - when's the birthday? Guess what, I got you an anime... hehe...
I was infected by another story-meme last night (well, it was a dream, see) but I'm not sure what it's about. Some sort of soldier who gets thrown in with a large family of orphans - the little idea I have as to what it's about hints that the eldest girl of the family would be someone you and I would recognize pretty well... It'd be either fantasy or SF and I honestly don't know what the point is but my subconsious found it interesting.

My birthday's Sunday.
So...you're thinking of writing that story? It sounds like it could be interesting...
OK, I'm at 7676 words, which seems like a nice number to stop at. Only did about 1300 today, but that's not bad considering.
Tomorrow I have class (a test, too), so I probably won't get much in. Hopefully the weekend will be productive!
Ideally (which is different from realistically) I'd like to have a rough draft DONE by the time I start NaNo, so I can do some editing in December. Then I have to figure out how to go about printing it out in a decent readable format.

And just in case we weren't debated out, the WA gubernatorial debate is on now.
We got a shrill Hillary-clone RAT running here. Ick.

Not for NaNo! Maybe for practice month, if I could locate the plot. Right now it resolves solely around the sheer weirdness of large families.
I have a test tomorrow too. Let's exchange Trivial Prayers, then.
