Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Oh, dear... that sounds unpleasant. At work today?
Yeah, back at work. I really am much better. 'Course it was a beautiful weekend and I got absolutely no yard work done...
same here... muh folks came fer a visit... beauty weekend frittered away...
It was a beautiful weekend here too, and I went hiking.
I still haven't planted bulbs.
I cleared out the garden last night and went to dig up the area where I wanted to put daffodils, and it's gravel. Pure gravel. Apparently the driveway used to extend further than it does now, or something.
So...I'm back to square one, with almost no time to figure this out.
I think I'm going to go with Anne.
Which is unfortunate in a way, since if I share it with family members, they'll say it's cause of Anne of Green Gables, which isn't true...I just like the name.
If I ever have kids, I wanna name my first daughter Anne or Anna Teresa.
Had to get Mom to the airport.
That, and I'm neurotic.
I woke up (last night) feeling completely rested, sat down at the computer thinking it was early morning, and it was only 11:30 PM.
I hate when that happens.
So we're both a little neurotic ;~D
He's out like a light. He's taking Lortab for the pain. I got the laptop here in the kitchen and the jedis are doing school.
I served him breakfast in bed this morning, Fresh eggs, fried, with habenero pepper flakes, low-carb toast, OJ and some avocado slices, with a large cup of coffee with 0 carb whipped cream. (He likes his coffee cold with lots of creamer...more like an ice cream if you ask me, but to each their own.)
He's worked hard for so long...I intend to make this two-day break very relaxing...still, he has to go to class this evening.
Better to remember nothing than to remember something unpleasant!
How about "Solari"?
Thanks, but it needs to be a little more boring than that. And "Solari" makes me think of Unix systems, no fun.
~sigh~ Nana related Good News/Bad News prayer concern...
Social worker at the nursing facility just told the Mrs. that Nana may come home Monday. First she said "we'll do a home visit with her either today or tomorrow."
To that wife said "Don't you think you should do it when SOMEONE IS THERE TO LET HER IN?" As in "weren't you going to let me know?"
SW said matters of "safety" would be addressed during the home visit. Wife said "It's not a matter of safety, it's a matter of the fact that she can't get herself out of bed to go to the bathroom."
It's just that simple. If she's ~up~ she can ~go~ by herself. But if she's in bed (where she still is most of the time), she is unable to get herself up.
SW was implying that's when we'd have to have home health care (as in WE pay for it). As in WE can't afford it...
OUR contention is, if she's not mobile, she shouldn't be home.
~sigh~
We're all on your side, Corin. It's good that Nana's doing better, but they ought to understand that the rest of your family has needs, too.
Medicare and some others do pay for home health care... visiting nurses and aides are cheaper for insurance than nursing homes are. Have you already checked it out? It's a tough call to make for a family, I know. Prayers that whatever happens next is the best path for everyone, including Nana, and including you.
Mount St. Helens is spewing again - biggest "event" so far, I think.
Sigh... even I were home, I wouldn't be able to watch it on tv. Rather frustrating.
Pat. ;-)
