The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh...yeah, if THAT ever goes...well, it'll be interesting world-wide, I'd say.

Most of us wouldn't have to worry about volcanos ever again - or anything else, either.

It's not my fault! Honest!

I'm as innocent as...as...well...something.

As this afternoon is long?

It's draggin'. And tonight I have TONS to do...got bulbs to plant, old tomato plants to execute, grass to mow, a big pot o' stew or soup or chili to make, and a walk to walk...

Got class. Then back to sit. Then seminar. Then more sitting. Then lab. Then home, and bed.

But hopefully before bed, the last FMA... and I got an email from my little sister, yay! She's been ignoring me...

Hope you're able to get and watch the last FMA! You've been on that cliff for an awfully long time...

I want to do some story scoping, too! And cleaning. And more stuff. I could be doing sooooo much...

Mine doesn't have a name, either. Needs to be something pretty but ordinary.

Yeah, I'm looking for a similar name... have to go to one of the name sites, maybe, and search for something with an appropriate meaning.

That's not a bad idea.

I'll probably just go with something like Anne or Rose or (heh...) Beth. Though...since it'll be in the first person, it doesn't matter as much.

I need something a little more exciting than those, but not much more. Check behindthename.com for meanings and suchlike.

Oh, time for class. See you later.

In case anyone's interested, Canadian network TV (the CBC) showed FOTR last night. WITH A LOT MORE COMMERCIALS THAN THEY USUALLY HAVE WHEN SHOWING MOVIES!! I watched aboot an hour and then went to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Did you know Frodo's ring used to belong to Sauron? Really! Who'da thunk it?? I wonder if he'll give it back if he gets to Mordor.

I know I only show up here on occasions when Sauron becomes a vampire (i.e. once in a blue moon), but you think I might have got a number better than 6,353...

I'm at the library...Joshua is playing on the computer, Matthew is done with school and is perusing Star Wars books. We're waiting for Joshua's spanish co-op class, which is in an hour...no sense driving all the way back to our house...it's a 20 minute drive.

Got the two knives to the guy at the post office. Took a picture of him with them with the jedis. However, I was mortified to learn that he doesn't have 2 boys in the military, but THREE! There is a large display in the post office...I just didn't pay close enough attention.

He told me that two of his boys are fixin' to be deployed and that he'll make sure the knives get to those two.

I tried to get the knife to Mr. George this past Sunday but he was doing his guard duty! Had my camera and everything. I'll get it to him this next Sunday.

We'll we're just back from Longwood Gardens- a horticultural mecca. Mom and I are plumb tuckered out from all this touring stuff. No further rumblings from the debris pile known as Doughboy's house.
