Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh, I haven't even left yet. I decided to drop one class - what a relief! Now my schedule will be much easier.

Parallel Programming. It was boring, and too different. My other classes, I have friends to study with and bounce ideas off.
Hey, if I only need 9 credits why was I trying for 13 anyway... so no regrets.

Steve's class this semester is killing him. That's why he's spending so much time in a study group. But he has to get through it. I told him "Hire a tutor if you have to, we'll make do!"
Being warm is highly overrated. LOL I'm just kidding.
To: 2Jedismom
Heh...I know you're just kidding...but with oil prices being what they are, I'm not sure how I'm gonna make do this winter.
I'm thinkin' I invest in a coupla HEAVY used wool sweaters and keep the thermostat at about 55. I could!
Makes you realize how good we have it these days, seriesly. I mean...I doubt people had indoor temperatures even that warm in the old days, except right in front of the stove. Bedrooms would have been freeeezing!

Yes, or in front of the fireplace.
Morning, everyone, just touching base.
We were in President Monroe's 18th century house, "Ash Lawn," in VA a couple years ago. In winter they closed up most of the house and lived in just a couple rooms with fires in fireplaces that were kept burning 24/7.
But imagine the unheated outhouses!

Yeah, I'm glad I've got my girlfriends to work with. Stress makes you bond! And we know how to have fun, too..

Heh...we used to use those growin' up. The thermal kind, with the bumpy fabric with little square dents in it...if that makes sense. They do work!
Looks like Mount St. Helens is really erupting!

Yup... it's "that day"... the last FMA should come out...
Oh, spoiler, but a happy one: this episode is named "Rebirth", so it looks good for you-know-who.

Yeah... I saw a speedsub but wasn't willing to risk bad translation. Not for the final episode. Surely by the time I get home SS or Fork will have it done.

We are about 120 miles driving, not that far as the ash flies. Generally, we are out of the direction of the prevailing winds.

Last time, we were in Portland. Which I've said far too many times. Sorry!
But I DO remember the ash, though not much else!
