Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You have to have a sense of humor about those types of things.
There were a few guys on the team that took it waaaay too seriously and would openly groan when I was up to bat.
I just flashed a dazzling smile and swung as hard as I could. I connected a couple of times, to their surprise!

Funny...seems like HHDs don't do softball too well! LOL
I enjoyed going to practice and eating Lamme's chocolate covered strawberries for breakfast...washed down with champagne. Them liberals would be nibbling on bran muffins, drinking fancy hazelnut coffee (which was a big thing back then) and they looked at me like I was crazy!

I like to play sports, but I'm into slower paced ones...like bowling. :-)
Although you could possibly break something bowling too.

Good to see you, Scott! OT and I were talking about couches and how I planned on getting rid of mine and she mentioned that it was so comfy. I said "There are other comfy couches in the world..." and I thought of yours!
