Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I like both edible AND just purty plants...
I think I've seen 'em there. Guess I can just check! I want just BUNCHES of daffodils next year, if I can get away with it.

Sounds like you had a blast! Fans do love to sit and chat about anime. I have to pry away from that sort of stuff because I always get a talkative one when I am on my way to fix something. I spent most of 3 days solving issues just like that problem they had with those videos. in addition to video rooms I was the Technical head and directed pre-con work for the music video contest. My good friend Mike ran the music video contest along and also a gameshow on friday. I did not get to see either but it sounds like they went well. Ah the dealersroom, for to love the LOOT. I went in to shop only once and made a super fast targeted pass that netted 8 or 10 manga volumes (the next inuyasha, the last 4 love hina, something else I forget). I could not find the DVD I wanted (Kaliedo Star vol 4) but Mike used his status as a Dealers room Staff member (he does that also) to basically extort a copy out of a dealer and I was able to slip it into the schedule on sunday after noon :D It was pretty cool to watch a DVD that came out THAT week that I had looked all over for for the first time in nice convention video room. It was a kind of first for me.

Yup! Got it 30% off, too.
How was your con? Did you get cool stuff?

Oh, yeah, and I was completely useless yesterday. Got almost nothing done, I just sat and watched Full Moon wo Sagashite. Am almost halfway through it. It's insane! Have you seen that? Am I supposed to be thinking that Takuto is Mitzuki's father?

Hehe, you forget I was recommending it to you some where 3 or 5 threads back. Yeah I was getting that vibe part way through the series. Not sure about 'supposed' but there is a reason for it.
It has to do with the thing with stuff and those people and whatnot. Sorry if I spoiled it >;D
I took 2 cameras and got zero pictures. But there sure were a lot of costumes. Every year the percentage of people cosplaying goes up. At this rate it will be required for admission in a couple years hehehe. It is great except all the underage girls cosplaying cute anime characters.... ARGH!!
5 years ago Cons had FAR fewer teenage girls and about half the cosplayers. Can't say I have a problem with the change I guess.... ;P

Eh, I was less than thrilled by the girls in underwear (literally). And everyone was from Naruto or Inu-yasha, be original! Next year I'm going in costume. I'm thinking Chidori Kaname... then I'd ahve an excuse to hit people with a big paper fan.

Somehow the first imagine in my mind was of a giant cardboard box fan...then I realized what you must mean by a "paper fan"...

Heh... that would be good too! You'll have to see "Full Metal Panic" sometime. Chidori's fun, and Sousuke is... vey nice...

Yeah, it seems like there are at least a couple people a year who we have to tell their 'costume' is not allowed.
It has been to long since I cosplayed. I should do something at the next con I hit. I want to get a flack jacket and do Sousuke. My hair is all wrong now for Ranma. Yeah, I use to have enough hair to do Ranma right.
I also might go for Seta from Love Hina. That would be an easy one to do.
I always wanted to make a duplicate Ranma out fit and hit a convention with Empress as both boy and girl type ranma.
To: TalonDJ
I don't think anyone at this con was told their costume was not allowed. Unfortunately. The middle-aged guy dressed as Card Captor Sakura girl was scary.
Sousuke would be a fun cosplay, too!

Con staff would probably have pulled them aside before you spotted them. There always seems to be some disturbing ones like that. AI had a tall black guy in Card Captor Sakura's school uniform. I looked at him and though, "hmm that is not as disturbing as I would have expected.... and the THAT thought is VERY disturbing."
He was not nearly as scarry as 'salor bubba' the fat middle age guy that wears sailormoon costumes to conventions. Short skirt + fat hairly legs= very very evil.

Thanks! How did "Mystery Science Theater" manage to miss that one, LOL! I'll have to find that :)

hehehehe....I've managed to avoid the meeting thing all day.
Well, the first day using the new web-based system is nearly done and it has been....interesting.
Although we are on a T1 line here at work, the system is dragging very badly. I'm talking 60-90 seconds to go from one panel to the next. I finally finished the 6 payrolls I had scheduled for today.
Aside from that, I drank a HUGH iced coffee and feel like a bloated sponge now. I want to start exercising but my knee is swollen with water in it and I don't want to stress it any further.
yeah, yeah I know - go see the doctor.
I dun wanna.....
