Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Mornin! I'm fixing to go back to bed for a couple of hours! Got Joseph to school on time today, but I'd been up til almost 3! Paul came in last night for the weekend, so I visited with him some, then freeped a bit.
I was sitting at the computer and heard (and felt) what I thought was thunder, then I realized it was the speakers in the basement. He was watching The Two Towers, and it was the first scene with Gandalf and the Balrog. I had to have him turn it down cause it was literally shaking the house! LOL!

Chesterton is awesome...usually I just rotate through his quotes, whatever ones I can find that'll fit! Wish we had more space for long quotes.
Coffee is good...

I have a duty-weekend. The backups duty won't take long every day, but I have to think about it. And I'm going to go to work Monday - we don't have too. But we have to work 20 hours next week anyway.
And I've got to do a lot of programming, but if I work hard tomorrow, Sunday afternoon I'm gonna do something adventurous.

Mornin' folks. Did y'all see this?

I do have gigs...so I'm not totally free except for Monday.
But I really, really hope we can hike, either early on Saturday before that gig, or else on Monday. We didn't do ANY serious hiking this year, and the weather is just gorgeous. I'm sure it'll be crowded this time of year, but even still...
I'm almost thinking I'll go alone if I can't convince anyone to go with me.

Heh...he's the one that needs to wake up.
But just about everything he says is likely to LOSE him votes, so I say let him talk.

It has been just an awesome couple of days watching the RNC events. I thought W just blew the dems to hell in his speech last night. I love that cowboy. Oh, and this one too. :)
How is everyone at the Hobbit Hole these days?? How's the new job?? Hope all is well. Things are going great here. Still unemployed but doing ok anyway.
