Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

While you folks are praying for all the freepers in the path of the hurricane, I hope you can add a few good words for my mother. I took her in to the ER this morning with internal bleeding. She's been admitted, and they're starting to run tests.
All I know is that the ER and other folks don't see it as too serious. Her hemoglobin count is still high, and they don't see any real danger. Just have to wait for more tests and exams to find out what's happening.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and good wishes. I'll keep you informed.

Did students "make out" on the lawn when you were in school?Heh, back in the day, they were called PDAs, Public Displays of Affection, and were frowned upon by the head honchos at Southern Miss. Don't know about other places.

I wish I was just talking about PDAs... I'm talking about activities just this side of "public indecency".

Ooh, I forgot. Oops.
I'm supposed to be sitting in on my boss' network class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There goes my free evening...but he's a good teacher and though some of it is stuff I know, it also goes much more in depth.
So...I missed the first class on Tuesday, but I imagine that's not that big of a deal since it was mostly intro, and I REALLY needed to make music practice then since we have a concert this weekend. But I'm going tonight.
Ah well. I can grocery shop late. Dunno what I can grab for dinner, though...I'll only have an hour or so.

On the bright side, maybe there will be nice older students in the class?
And I also hadn't realized we get Monday off! I just found out! That is SOOOO awesome!

I just went back and re-read the live thread during Miller's speech last night.
Boy...I'm still not over it. Someone finally said what needed to be said.
I wish the jedis could have seen it live, but I'm gonna make sure they see the president tonight.

I wanna go home. I've already cleaned my desk.
Had a surprise mtg with the Big-chief and wasn't dressed for it. Capris, birks and a cute polo. *sigh*

Technically it's Friday for a lot of us. It's complicated but I have to take my Monday day-off the Friday before a Monday holiday. But I did butter up the boss, aparantly. She told me team leader how nice I was and how I made her feel 'useful'. That's a good thing because I've been a bit of a brat this week.
