Apparently (and maybe you'll know more about what I'm talking about than I do), Steve won some kind of lotto where he gets to deer hunt "black powder" on some government land before the season even starts! That's what he was doing with Matthew...scoping out the land...when Matthew got the ticks on him.
Tourists that come in the autumn to drive around at look at the leaves and take pictures of the older churches and houses around here. Most of 'em are older folks who drive around at fifteen miles an hour while the rest of us are tryin' to get to work...
Granted, it IS gorgeous here in the fall, so I can understand why they come. And it helps the economy. But we still reserve the right to make fun of 'em!
Ahhhhh!
That was my first thought...not uncommon to have it happen in the hospital, even before discharge, for these things to dislocate. Not so common later on.
Yeah, he's hoping to avoid additional surgery. Although wife explained to Dr. that if he says that to Nana, she will call the other siblings and say in a hushed tone "you know they're going to have to operate..."
They don't understand the 50% rule (because it also applies to them).
The Rule? Consider the source, then subtract 50% of the severity.
Works every time.
Hello all. After my hectic summer break I have gotten together a group of troop packages again. Really cool news is that while I was back home in Waco earlier this summer I visited the used bookstore where I used to hang out. I was telling 'em about the troop packages and they wanted to help. I ended up with over 100 paperback books to send with the packages!
In addition to the paperbacks, I was up in Oklahoma on the reservation a couple of weeks ago and heard some guys talking about sharing magazines with one another. I overheard one of the group of men tell another that everyone had read a certain group of magazines so they could be thrown in the trash. hehehe... I stepped right up, told them about the troop packages and asked if I could have them. They are mostly horse and rodeo type magazines. I made arrangements to return there every couple of weeks to pick up more magazines from those guys too. They are happy to be donating them to the troops.
And, I took a break from the beginning of school madness and made it over to Sam's and WalMart to spend the funds ($70) I have received since the last troop shipments on the usual goodies. We have beef jerky, chex mix, Little Debbies, ramen noodles, assorted candies, lemonade mix, gum, honey, lotions, shampoos, soap... and I think that mostly covers it.
I have been inundated with work so I haven't packaged it up to mail yet. I will be working on that in the next couple of days. Just wanted to let ya'll know that we're about to be sending out more packaged love to the guys.
Lukewarm... all around.
Well Hello!
Glad to hear from ya! Great job!
((((WN))))
Hey! It's good to see you! We've missed ya!
Heh, as you can see, I may be busy but I've still got my priorities I'm workin' on.
Permanone... spray it on yer clothes... lasts two weeks... werks great...
congrats to Steve... those special hunts can pay off big... we gets 11 tags per family member bein' landowners...
heh heh... classic...
Well OK then! Hope you have time to sit and have some conversation.
I gotta take some steps to get myself ready to go. Harumph!
hey WN,great tuh see yuh darlin'...
gots tuh run...
I just bought new alarm clocks for myself and Joseph. Got him one that also has a CD player so he can listen to our Delta Sleep system CD on his way to sleep. Mine is cool, because the alarm starts off soft, and gets louder after ten seconds or so.
I tried out several in the store before I found this one. I thought something was wrong with it at first because the beep was so soft. I let it go for a little bit, then realized it was getting louder. That's nice because you get woken up more slowly, with less of a JOLT! I love it!
I hope The Castle doesn't get too much damage!
There's a lot going on that's occupying my life right now and keeping me from having as much spare time as I did in the last year. Because of this, I emailed 2J last week and asked her if she would mind taking over the responsibility of sending out packages to our troops. She has agreed but we feel we need to talk about this with the rest of the Hobbit Hole.
Does everyone still want to send troop packages of goodies? Or do we want to focus more on the knives and tools that 300winmag has? And, if we are still sending goody packages is it okay with everyone else if 2J does this for a while instead of me?
Lastly, I do have a whole lot of stuff to mail off since I got these book and magazine donations. If there's anyone out there who can help me a bit with the postage to get these items mailed I'd really appreciate it. I've had some "Corin style" unexpected things come up in my life and the bills are kinda overwhelming.
(sorry Corin - you know your stuff is legendary in the unexpected!)
Excellent! I'll keep an eye out for the stuff.
Steve sure would probably like to come visit you...LOL! Even if he couldn't hunt (he'd still have to buy a license, right?) He'd likely enjoy just going out.
He's back in school now, though...I glimpse him putting my coffee on the bedside table then I don't see him again till 10pm, every day but Friday. The boys don't see him at all...except Matthew usually lies in bed awake waiting for him. Joshua doesn't make it though...we can have a party in there visiting with Matthew and Josh sleeps right through it.
(((gnad)))
WN loves her dwarves! :-)
oh.... (((Corin)))
wouldn't leave ya out sweetie. :-)
