The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well some... I don't get to actually writing much but I have a couple plot outlines laying around. At least one of which I plan on writing.

For our pro-life agenda, the only thing that really matters are the judges that might be appointed in this next term. Anything beyond that is around too many corners to know what will matter.

If Roe v. Wade is overturned, it won't matter much what the President at the time thinks about it. It turns back to the states and the real battle begins, as it needs to. But for this and the next presidential term, the white house will have little effect either way.

IMHO.

You should do NaNoWriMo! It's a great motivator. www.nanowrimo.org - I've done it two year snow, and finished each year. The stories were crap, of course, but at least they were written.

I'll alert you now so you can start planning... ;-) and you're on the ping list, hehehe.

True. And if it comes to voting for an anti-life Dem or an anti-life Republican, I'll take the Republican. But it would be a real hold-my-nose vote.

I guess I'm more pessimistic; I don't expect R. v. W. to be overturned. I believe that the next president - the one we elect in 08 - will have to keep moving the country in the right direction. Slowly...

I'm with you, Jen. My new bumper stickers are magnetic, as soon as I park, down they come. I live in Seattle, and I have a (relatively) new truck....'nuff said. ;)

I have an 88 Lincoln... but for some reason I don't like the look of an old car cover with stickers so I don't have any (except my college logo)

Honor principle. I have started at midnight on the 1st both years now - there's a psychological boost.

It's a lot of fun. There's no time to edit, so you just focus on writing the story. If you get to 50,000 and aren't done, you keep writing. If you only write 10,000, well, that's more than you've have done otherwise!

For me, it's a great exercise.

Heh, college town, my precious car, 'nough said.

Though if I see Mr. Cute-with-Bush-Sticker-on-his-Backpack again, I am definitely saying hi... target or no.

Shootmoot is Entmoot '05. At g'nad's. Entmoot '04 was more fun than a barrel of monkeys with Irish car bombs, so show up for this one.

Think Dred Scott. I think that's how it will eventually go down. People back then never thought that slaves would ever be recognized as citizens. How could they? They were property, after all... and people rightfully have choice about what to do with their property.

The issues and the arguements are all the same.

Here's a couple of websites you might want to check out, too. They provide Bush/Cheney 04 magnetic bumper stickers, plus the second one sells magnetic strips already cut to bumper sticker size.

Hey, I'm a big girl now. I'm in grad school. I have vodka-based adult beverages that impair my typing abilities. My Friday nights are still pathetic, though.

They are classy aren't they? I saw a Lincoln the same model as mine the other day that had GETTO COWBOY in big stickers across the back window...
