The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

hey everyone... muh parents were here over the weekend, no time to Freep...

got alot of decorating done... hung an old musket my uncle had up on the beams, along with the tomahawk that osage gifted me... also hung two saws, a two-man crosscut and a buck saw that my great grandfather used... hung 'em with hooks made by a Blacksmith in Bentonsport, IA.

the musket is a .68 cal U.S. govt model, with a very faint U.S. and makers mark stamped on the barrel... the initials "WZC" are roughly carved in the butt... somebody laquered the entire gun a ways back, which has ruined any collector's value, but it looks good on the beam...

had tuh grade and repair the lane after the gully washers we had last week... took me almost 3 hours...

food plots are comin' up nicely... 16 more days till bow season...

corin; good snaig...

osage; our cannas is about 2 1/2' tall, but no blooms... musta done somethin' wrong...

You might want to look at some USMilitary training videos

even training videos are strctured andf "stylized"... I've been in enough brawls to know it's normally ended by the guy that's more vicious and ain't afraid to get in close and end it... nothin' purty about that...

the knife fight in Saving Private Ryan is an excellent example... the ending is a little too dramatic, tho...

you have to consider weapons tho... cuz let's face it, there's nothin' purty about a mace or an axe fight...

I found it! It was just east of here, though it took a few hours' searching to find it...

Good evening!

Don't you love it when you save a pretty penny? I do and I don't think I'll ever be too rich to like doing it.

Matthew is in 5th grade now.

Ah yes, that's right...Bonnie Tyler.

Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit restless and I dream of something wild
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit helpless and I'm lying like a child in your arms
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit angry and I know I've got to get out and cry
Turnaround, Every now and then I get a little bit terrified but then I see the look in your eyes
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart
Turnaround bright eyes, Every now and then I fall apart
