Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

     | Upon the hearth the fire is red,Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
 Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!
 | Still round the corner there may waitA new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!
 | Home is behind, the world ahead,And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
Well wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I've only seen that once--I mostly remember some crazy guy lying around in a hammock screaming a lot :)

Hmmm, just found "Columbo" on cable.

Good question! I guess it's based on a play by Tennessee Williams; maybe it's a Freudian symbol of the id or something?

    Happy Birthday PE!

Mine was Tuesday - I'm 28 now!

Things are busy as always...but good!

So far it's because there are iguanas running all over the place. But then they might as well have called it Night of the Ants. Ants run around too although I expect they don't taste like chicken.

I'm at the intermission now. My eyes are a little tired today from subtitles (gee, wonder why?) and I've been taking breaks every half hour or so.

Still enjoying it... Heh, though I think the anime is prettier, this is certainly magnificently done.

Dang! Where's a picture of a cheap movie dinosaur when you want one?

Heh, that's what made me go find the movie! I discovered the anime recently - seven episodes out of 24 have aired, only six have been translated. It's not quite the same story, they've got robot-enemies and a Dowser/Priestess person but it's very similar so far.

And Katsushiro is very pretty in the anime. Has lovely green hair and eyes... and they got a wonderful seiyuu to voice the role... and the fansubbers translate the honorifics right! Lots of "o-samurai-sama!" flying about.

Which cheap movie dinosaur were you looking for?
To: JenB
I've always found Katsushiro to be the most interesting character in the movie.
To: JenB
That sounds like a pretty cool way of doing an adaptation.

What do you think of the actor playing Kikuchiyo? He was one of the most famous actors in Japanese cinema.

That's another good one :) I've seen the movie; been meaning to read the original Wells novel.

And then there's "Them". . .
