The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Ooops! I meant to tell you that. I saw that early yesterday and had my downloader grab it while I was at work.

It's really good. This anime's so awesome, I did not think I'd be feeling sorry for *certain character*.

Our new student orientation had about 30 students. Not all of them were truly new, one of the guys I work with was there because previously he was non-degree-seeking. Three women, counting me.

They had cookies and I virtuously did not eat any. I'm on a diet here, don't go screwing me up!

What's the IFF?

I'm thinking maybe Corin's article will answer that and I'll feel stupid for asking, but...

I need to go shopping, too...but I'm pretty well broke until next payday (a week from tomorrow), so it'll be an interesting shopping trip. How many veggies can Rosie manage to buy with five bucks? Could be a fun game...

Did I miss yet another "bad picture" incident? That's all of them so far.

I just need peppers and brocoli. I've got onion, and those are all I really want anyway.

I shall canvass my cupboards and see what I need to keep from shopping - except for veg - for two weeks. Not much, I think.

I have all the chicken and hamburger I could ever want - for the next little bit, that is. And I have onion and a pepper or two.

Just nothing to have with 'em.

I figure I can always pick up a bunch of broccoli and have chicken curry or stir fry every day until I get paid. Not exactly a hardship. ;-)

And I still have a spaghetti squash, which is VEY tasty with a hamburger spaghetti sauce. I was surprised at how good that was last time I made it.

Yes. I am HairOfTheDog, I steal images and I am an A$$____.

Good morning!

It still shows in my "My Comments" page. ;-)

This one isn't terribly obscene like my goof was, though. Just says "I steal images. I'm an a--hole".

Why people can't just leave it as a red x if they're worried about bandwidth, I'll never understand. Being nasty just isn't necessary.

Aw man! It finally happens to Hair and I miss it! Darn!

Morning folks. Looks like today may be slow enough to get caught up. Or at least, I can try to get some non-naughty pics up! *grin*

I think I'm going to make kielbasa stir-fry tonight, I've got some leftover kielbasa here. Have some tacos later this week, or maybe next week.

What do you usually add to the taco meat when you make those? Just curious...I'm open to new ideas!

Ah! I brown the meat, throw it in my crockpot, and add salsa. Let it cook all day and when I'm done.... oh, yeah. And of course I add sriachi sauce.

I need a little crockpot, I think. The one I have is hugh, and so old that I'm afraid it'll set the house on fire!

Do you just do it at the low setting?

Yes. Low means when I walk in the door at night, the meat's ready. Since it's cooked all day, the flavor permeates every particle of beef.

I think I'll make that next Monday. Don't suppose I'll be in any shape to cook...
