Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I let it go a few days to see if it was just a owie she'd recover from, and she's worse. I hesitate to give her pain killers because as long as it hurts, she'll protect it.... till I know it isn't broken. If it's a soft tissue injury, I will ask if she can have some anti-inflammatories.
Freepmail me if you want the name and number of the Michigan lawyer that beat the RAT state attorney general TWICE on out-of-state CCWs. He comes highly recommended by a friend who teaches firearms courses, and swears by the guy.
Thanks. He's goin' tomorrow. I just wonder what my options are gonna be.
Yeah, well... let's say I have a really good idea why they gave me all those fellowships.
Hey, it makes me happy! I have one friend who's past her MS. She's got a quarter-time teaching assistantship (utterly unheard of at her level) and fellowships that give her an even better deal than I get. Of course, she's a double minority (in CS, female is a bigger minority (or smaller, whatever) than anything else.)
Remember, all the classes I'm in are upper-division, optional courses. Undergraduates probably wouldn't have three, not at this difficulty. The other women are mostly different, class to class, though I have two classes with the friend I mentioned.
Sorry I aint been around much
Decided tuh go back tuh skool, but it has turned into a nitemare with the VA
want to get my Maters of Art in Teaching (MAT)
found out that the MAT program starts in the summer
no problem, enrolled as a Post Baccalaureate student, takin classes Ill need tuh finish the program, at the advice of the counselor, and my VA case manager
turns out, I cant enroll as a PB, I havetuh get into a program, or the VA refuses tuh pay
even though this course of action works out the best, the VA aint gonna play
its more complicated than it sounds
Muh first day was Monday, and it wasnt till I got done with muh classes that the dragon lady VA rep was havin kuhniptions and told me I couldnt do this
gonna go see the head of the dept tomorrow
gonna splain what I need and try to reason with him
ifn it dont werk out, (and I aint in jail) Ill disenroll, and apply fer the program in the summer
On the lighter side, bein round all those little cretins was definitely a hoot
whatta bunchuh maroons
I had trouble tellin ifn one of muh teachers was a very effiminate guy, or a real ugly, masculine gal
I think itsuh she, but I aint sure
it wuz definitely a socialist critter tho'... my other teacher was a blind black gentlemen, with a thick Cote dIvoire accent that is extremely difficult to follow
whatta day
Not to mention that Im still waitin on TriCare tuh una$$ my MRI situation
they dont wanna send them to DUKE, dont want to pay for follow ups, and have stopped muh therapy
most of those issues will be resolved by goin thru the VA, byut not muh MRI
So
whats new round this place?
muh 600 level ed class hadda bout 60 wimmin and 9 guys... 'cludin' me...
That's never good.
Good luck.... let us know how much it'll take if you need bailed out.
Heh, I sympathize with your struggles!
Several of the faculty - fortunately not my professors this time - have very thick Indian accents. As do a lot of the students. I think outsourcing's a myth, all the Indian programmers are over here in grad school.
Of course, they're neater than the American students, better spoken, and usually more interested in learning.
How long will your MAT take, supposing you can start now as you want? A year? Two?
course, the only really cute grad student I've met is already married...
I don't know anything about glaucoma, I'm sorry, but I hope that everything turns out ok with your kitty! Let me know what the vet says. :-)
s'posed tuh take a year and a half... and one semester is student teachin'...
not many far'ners at SMSU, but they are there...
Gidget is very fortunate to have you as her mommy! :-)
That's not bad. I hope to have mine in two years. Then it's the choice - more academia, or money?
I'll be praying for you on all of those fronts and for the Lord to reveal if it is a he or a she (in a non-painful way). *grin*
VA won't go the bail?!
Oops, sorry, did I say that out loud?
